    • DO THE PREP RIGHT - WORKS PERFECT!
Was easy to use and worked PERFECT! No more brownish-rusty dishwasher interior...looks brand new again! I used a Dremel rotary tool, sanded off EVERY SPECK of rust! Sand any "lumps" (which are hidden "rust dust") to make sure no rust left behind! I sanded down to bare metal, cleaned every spot I sanded with rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad, TWICE. Don't skimp on the prep! People who said it "didn't work" did not prep correctly! Did 3 coats, almost the whole bottle. Do it outside to see clearly and wear latex gloves. I let each coat dry 1 hour, then let finished rack DRY 48 HOURS, before I did a load of dishes. I opened my dishwasher and all the brown was GONE! Yes the Goop dries FAST...keep a finger over the bottle. By the 3rd coat, it was getting so thick, I thinned with 1/2 teaspoon 100% acetone nail polish remover, capped and shook it good. Exposure to air dries the Goop QUICK! THE TRICK IS>>> DON'T "brush" the Goop on---use the brush to quickly SPREAD the Goop along the wires...using a light touch---THEN BACK OFF and close the bottle! If you use extra brush strokes, it gets stiff and lumpy. Keep bottle CLOSED---every time you open the bottle to air, it gets thicker (and harder to spread). Don't expect a factory coating--but it will be SEALED. You hardly see the repairs! Do the PREP right...get every speck of rust off first, then wipe it down good with alcohol.     • Works great, easy to apply, lasts!
Have had these installed over 8 months now. Caps are so easy to install and work great! Follow the simple instructions and glue the caps on - they won't come off. Works great on surface rust too. Be sure to give plenty of coats and overlap on the non-tine spots. I have to redo one area but I capped my bottle tightly and 8 months later the goop in the bottle is still liquid so I can keep using it for touch ups. I was afraid I'd have to buy a new, expensive dishwasher rack but this product saved me a lot of money! ... show more

    • Meets expectations. Dries very quickly, see tips for smooth finish
I decided to try uber goop based on other reviews of the product. Since reviews were generally very high, I had high expectations which have been met. I'll start with the con (why it lost 1 star). The product dries extremely fast, leaving less than 30 seconds (if that) working time. Although a fast drying time is nice for certain situations, this product could benefit from additional workability, say 2 minutes would be nice. The reason the fast drying time is a con is because it is difficult to achieve a smooth finish so quickly. If you buy this product keep in mind that the best way to get a smooth finish is to give three even brush strokes then STOP. Even if the first coat doesn't cover everything it is better to stop and wait 20 minutes (instructions say 1 hour, but it was completely dry after 20 for me) and apply a second coat than trying to make the first one look good. If you keep brushing past 3 strokes, then the product starts to clump up and looks like a gloppy mess on the next couple coats. Otherwise, the product is very effective, and since I really don't care what it looks like I didn't go back to try and fix the lumpy parts. Now for the pros, the product dries into a very tough rubber-like polymer. It's almost like a semi-soft epoxy finish once fully cured, giving confidence that it will last (only time will tell for sure). All the caps are fixed on very well; the product works excellent as an adhesive for the caps. The caps are very easy to apply, one drop into the cap while squeezing it then slide it on and spin a few times is the way I found works best (the instructions say to paint the prong but I like this method better, feels more secure). So, to sum up, repairing prongs are easy with the caps. However, repairing rusty rails takes more patience, make sure you remove the rust (I used a cordless dremel with a wire brush). Then clean with rubbing alcohol and apply 3 even brush strokes MAX repeating every 20 minutes until you have good depth and complete coverage to give a smooth finish. Enjoy! ... show more

    • Very good product
I have fixed up my lower dishwasher rack with this product, and have been very pleased with the results. The only caveat is the bottle of goop - it starts curing once opened, and I would highly recommend having everything ready to go when you actually make the repair, such as using a Dremel-tool to knock back rust on other parts of the rack besides the tips. The plastic caps all fit very tightly, and as far as I can tell, none have come loose. Once I replaced the tips, I went back and brushed the liquid vinyl on all the spots on the rack that had rust. The vinyl starts setting up fairly quickly, and I was able to go back and put a second coat on those spots. This may not extend the life of your dishwasher rack indefinitely, but it will give you several extra years of life when the rest of the dishwasher still works fine. ... show more

    • Definitely worth a shot
So far, I like the caps the best. It hasn't been easy to find the right size caps, but these are great and easy to apply. The paint/glue doesn't smell as obnoxious as I had anticipated and that is a plus. However, is is the second time this year that I have used the paint on the lower rack. The rust came through some of the areas. I may have needed another application of paint. Still waiting to see how long this will last. ... show more

I bought this foe my house after it was sold so the buyers would not complain about the dishwasher. I know it fit and looked good but I never used it.
