  • Pouch too small
The media could not be loaded. I don't need the little pouch it came with, but if it's going to be included, it should at least fit inside

  • Fantastic, and what an amazing price!
My wife bought this as a gift for me. I can't stand plastic and metal is not aesthetically appealing to me. This is a perfect muddler! Fantastic looking, flat face, not milled, so it's super easy to clean. It's not lacquered so you know nothing bad is going into your drinks unless you're the one to blame. The title says acacia wood, but the description says it's beechwood. It's acacia as far as I can tell. Mine has a lovely verrugated blend of wood grain colors. The only "treatment" I give to culinary wood items beyond washing them is the occasional light rubbing with mineral oil. This has been oiled. Yes, it came in that cool little bag. Totally unnecessary, but I thought it was pretty sweet. Ergonomics are great, too! I use both a grip on the end or along the axis depending on what I'm doing. Feels comfy both ways. Given that this is one of the most inexpensive muddlers on Amazon, I'm shocked people buy anything else! If you want a clean and attractive muddler to add to your swanky bar set, this is for you! ... show more

  • Good, but it has some roughness to the finish.
This is a fine product that checks the boxes in terms of quality, but has one flaw that kept it from 5 stars. Foremost, it fits great in the hand. The color of the wood is great. It has nice accent cuts in it for decoration. It’s ready to go to work for your drinking pleasure. The only issue, and it is a big issue, is the roughness of the finish. It’s as if they only used 120 grit sand paper when finishing this. The wood is very rough all over the tool, scruffy. I took some 240 grit sand paper and sanded it lightly myself. It feels great and very smooth. This did lighten the finish but it’s still looking great to me. They need to take one more step and sand their product to complete the finish of this muddler. This would elevate it from pretty good to perfect. ... show more

  • Does a good job
I did an online cocktail class, and one of the things the teacher said was to avoid the muddlers with the pointed ends, as they will bruise the herbs. . My son brought his over for that class, and it was one that had those points. I had been thinking about buying one so after that class I looked and found this. We tried the same cocktail using this one, and I can see why this is preferable. May not matter for fruit, but if you use mint/basil for cocktails, this is better. It's also really pretty, and it comes with a bag that protects it. Very happy with this. ... show more

  • Very nice but....
Every review that states this products arrives "rough" and need attention is correct. That is frustrating but I poured a whiskey and went to my shop for just a half hour switching between sand paper and steel wool and finished up with a much smoother and acceptable muddler. Next I cleaned it and then rubbed some vegetable oil on to the surface. That brought out the highlights of the nice wood and gave it a bit of shine. Now I am happy with it. Bottom line: If you are willing to put in a half hour of effort to make this look really nice then buy it. If you want something that is ready to use immediately then look someplace else. ... show more

  • poor workmanship
I appreciate that it is more expensive to hire a woodworker to make a wooden muddler than it is to stamp out plastic or stainless steel products. So I paid more for this muddler than for others. Unfortunately the wood is soft and the finish is crude and knotty (see the picture).

  • Acacia Wood Muddler
Nice product, but as mentioned in other reviews does not have a fine finish. After receiving, to remove rough spots, sanded lightly and then used steel wool to produce a smooth and fine finish. Coated with a light coat of kitchen cooking oil and is now ready for use!
