The mattress expanded quickly without any chemical smell. We waited 48 hours before using it to assure the edges were ready. The mattress is very comfortable. It has the support of a firm mattress but the softness of a pillow top. We have had it for almost a year and it is holding up beautifully.

This bed was super easy to set up. All I had to do was lay the box where I wanted the bed, cut the box off and there is a plastic wrap you have to peel off and then just lay it how you want it and cut a small hole in the vacuum pack bag holding the mattress and then watch the magic happen. It took just seconds for it to expand and pulled off all the plastic. The mattress didn’t have a smell at all. It feels soft and comfortable but firm. You can sit on the edge and it stays up. So far very happy with the fast shipping, ease of mattress shopping and a great quality mattress! I’ve never bought a bed in a box or online but after this experience, I don’t know what I was worried about. If you need a good mattress at a reasonable price, don’t hesitate on buying this one! ... show more

This is my second mattress-in-a-box. My first one (different brand) was 100% foam, and was advertised as being firm. To me, it feels like laying on the floor. I wanted something a bit softer, so, when I saw this queen hybrid rated at "medium", I thought I would give it a shot. This is for a guest room, so it isn't used everyday. The box arrived all torn up with lots of tape holding it together. I don't know whether to blame the seller or FedEx, but when I took the rolled mattress out of the box it was undamaged. As others have noted, this thing weighs around 50 pounds, but its also a little bulky. I managed to get it where it needed to go by myself, but having a helper would be easier. Once in place, the mattress unpacked fairly easily, and quickly inflated to its 12" height. I let it sit for a couple of days as recommended, but I don't think it really needed more than overnight. Like I said earlier, I was looking for something softer than firm. This mattress is definitely that. You can tell it has springs because it has a "bouncy" feel to it. It's not bad, but it does squish down when you lay on it. I was a little surprised at how much bounce it has. I wonder how it would perform with two large adults laying on it? I like it, and it is very comfortable. It doesn't really feel like a foam mattress, and that's OK. Will it last? I hope so. ... show more

Sadly, medium firm is not a good description. I'm afraid whomever slept on this bed and gave it that rating must enjoy tent camping with no air matress. Even my dog side eyed me when I had her join me for the hour I tried to endure on this twin size back breaker. The best part...the return. please place bed back in original box. I'm not even joking. it comes vacuum sealed in a 2 foot by 5 foot box. it's maybe 5inches deep all rolled up. hahahaha imagine it now. 12" twin size..... in a 2x5 box. my plan. just staple box to mattress. UPS did not like this plan. I already exchanged for a canopy as I plan to never by a matress online again, so now I'm stuck with a matress I can't use (now sleeping on my couch as I sold my other bed, yes it's softer than this matress) and a canopy that I have to pay for as I can't figure out how to return the matress. LESSON HERE MY FRIENDS!!!! ....DO NOT BUY A MATRESS ONLINE. no matter the price. it's not worth the nightmare and you will never be able to return it, no matter what they advertise the return policy to be. Anyone want to buy a medium firm twin matress??? I'll make you deal! Must pick up! ... show more
