  • It is everything they say it is
Color: OG Green (Gen 2)
This is not an inexpensive bluetooth speaker. It is heavy. It is not glossed over with slick design work and flashing lights. It is very loud (powerful / loud speakers require a larger amplifier and more power + larger speaker for better low frequency range = heavier box) compared with other bluetooth speakers, this one kicks their collective butts. The price is reflective of the value in that this thing is S-O-L-I-D, the battery lasts for a very long time even with the speaker cranked up to a high output level and it is water proof thus one should have no reservations using it in any location and weather condition. Cheap? No. Good value? Yes. I fully expect it to last well past other bluetooth speakers are in the junk pile. It connects easily to my phone. There are controls on the speaker that are redundant for "volume," "play," and "stop." There are also little connector jacks if one chooses to hard wire a music player that is not bluetooth (or a phone with a headphone jack but for some reason you do not want to use bluetooth for the signal link.) The style has a utilitarian quality to it which I really appreciate. No fake 'chrome' plastic material or flashing lights or weird little useless LCD screens to make the device fancy in some silly sort of way. This is a well built, loud, water proof bluetooth speaker first and the other small nod to style and fashion for sure come second. The only thing I think this box is missing is a little slot for the user to park their cell phone or MP3 player. That would have been a great extra... but maybe I will simply need to add something on my own. : ) Overall, if you want a bluetooth speaker that will not break the first time it falls off a table, has a generous battery life, delivers excellent audio output level (think hanging by the swimming pool in the summer time) this is the one for you. PS---as for high fidelity speakers, this is pretty good but no audiophile is going to get excited about it. I make my living as an audio person---I would place this sound quality as above crappy low-end speakers, but for sure below my Genelec studio monitors and old JBL hi-fi speakers. This is still an enjoyable speaker to listen to though. ... show more

  • Excellent sound quality
Color: Limited Edition River Rock
Easy set up, great quality Even on the lowest setting, the sound is strong and clear. I purchased two so I could have stereo on my patio. Great value, excellent sound.

  • One tough loud speaker
Color: OG Green (Gen 2)
Bought this for a parade we were in and let me tell you this sucker is loud! Played at full volume for 3 hours and still showed full battery life. I even stress tested it by knocking it off the hood of my truck 5 feet onto blacktop - it didn't even stop playing music. Might be a higher priced than some bluetooth speakers, but you sure get what you pay for. Oh and this thing is way bigger than you expect. Nice work Turtlebox! ... show more

  • Stereo pairing didn't work properly.
Color: Thunderhead Gray/Black
This is actually an update for a bad review I gave Turtlebox. I had two turtleboxes that wouldn't play well when playing as a pair in stereo from my phone. Also, the audio was not of impressive quality at all. I will say their customer service is a little slow Emailing them back and forth, however once they verified that I indeed had bought two, they sent me return labels. When they received them they decided to send me two new ones at no charge. I don't know what the problem was, the new ones have much better sound quality, and don't cut out like the old ones. I have played them for several days, one day for 5 hours straight without a single hiccup in sound quality. It appears there is no more problem. It sucks that this happened, however Turtlebox made it right. I'm happy. ... show more

  • Gets loud!
Color: OG Green (Gen 2)
I bought this to use when I go on joy rides in my mud boat. One is loud enough to hear over my motor while driving. For reference it's a stock 37 efi go devil. If I had 2 I could probably completely drown out the motor. We took it to the beach for 4 days playing 4-6 hours a day about 50% volume give or take and never charged it and it still shows nearly a full charge. And at the end of the day we just washed it off with a water hose to get the sand and salt off and no problems. They are expensive but I haven't had any buyers remorse. ... show more

  • Yeet
Color: Thunderhead Gray/Black
Just the obvious thing for me. I did feel that the Gen 1 was louder and the battery did last longer on it than the Gen 2. But I did love the gen 2 new handle and more user friendly buttons. One is good enough for a gathering but 2 is awesome for a party. If you are Hispanic, I connected 2 for a backyard quincenera and various Mexican parties. And it was enough for people to enjoy some dancing and conversation. Also, I was able to play 2 with separate audios. One was playing Disney music for kids on one side of the yard and the other country music for us and I did not hear too much overlapping. You can walk towards one side and all you hear is the specific music for that area. Unfortunately I never got mine from Amazon and had gotten a full refund, so I went to turtleboxs website. ... show more

  • Loud, clear, Ideal for outdoor water, saltwater beach, boating
Color: Thunderhead Gray/Black
I purchased the speaker for my sailing adventures and have not been disappointed. It's great to use the bluetooth speaker while watching a movie for a true immersive experience. Bring the speaker along to a sandy beach and enjoy a nice clear sound. But be forewarned -- this speaker is LOUD -- we find ourselves using the lower volume as to not disturb others. The biggest gripe I have with this is recharging. You can only use an AC charger -- I tell everyone who asks me the pros/cons -- and say well you have to use an inverter on a boat to charge it, and that is a waste of power especially when you know the batteries are based on DC internally. ... show more
