I was on the fence on this one. Reviews can be hard to filter through and with an item like this, opinions will differ based on the size of the person. I went with the large. I am 5’ 3” and without revealing my weight, which is reasonable and average, I am not skinny. Could I have gone with a medium? Very possibly. But I am happy with the large as it is comfortable and roomy, not snug or tight. All those things said, this is a wonderful robe! It looks nice, it’s a great weight. I didn’t buy it to be super warm or I would have opted for something plush. This is a waffle knit, it’s not supposed to be warm and fuzzy. It’s lightweight and perfect for getting out of the shower until you get dressed. Some people say it’s not absorbent. Is a robe supposed to be absorbent?? That’s not what I use a robe for, that’s what I use a towel for. I did not find the tie to be too short at all, it’s the perfect length. I wanted oversized, and it is definitely over sized, which is what I find to be most comfortable. I recently purchased the Turkish Linen Waffle Knit Lightweight Kimono Spa & Bath Robe and have been quite pleased for the price! The fabric has a slight weight to it, which I found to be just right—providing a comforting feel without being too heavy. There’s nothing better than a nice long shower and doing your skincare routine in a crisp white robe. It gives luxury spa vibes to your everyday routine!! I do wish it was slightly softer but it’s also brand new so perhaps after washing it a few times it will soften slightly. The material is still truly lightweight and perfect for lounging around the house or after a relaxing bath. One aspect I love is the aesthetic of the robe. The waffle knit design adds a touch of elegance, making it not only functional but also stylish. Additionally, the size was true to expectations, though it might run slightly big for some. I have been looking for a long, lightweight black rope for a long time. I couldn’t afford very much and a lot of the robes that I wanted were too expensive. When I looked at the robes that were in my price range. They were all disappointing. I even ordered a few and had to return them. I ordered a size up even though I was told I shouldn’t through the reviews. It fits very comfortably! It is lightweight, the color is what I expected and it’s extremely comfortable. the sleeves are long the way I like them, and the length is almost to my ankles and that’s what I was looking for. Remember I did order a size up. If I would’ve ordered my regular size, I think it probably would’ve been shorter, and not what I was looking for. So it really depends on what you’re looking for. I don’t write reviews very often, but I was so happy with this robe that I had to write the review. The price was reasonable and the robe is extremely comfortable. Love it! ... show more

This robe was modeled by a woman on Amazon. I am 5'11" and weigh 180 pounds. I ordered a LARGE as I normally wear size 14-16. The robe came and I was shocked to find it was huge. I am guessing it was a size 18-20 or -22. The color was nice, the fabric was good, the length was right but it was heavier than I expected since it was so big. It said that it needed washing before using. I don't believe that it would shrink during a wash since it is 50% cotton and 50% polyester. ... show more

After returning the large because this robe runs big, I got the medium and it still looked big but after washing before wearing it shrunk a bit. It looks nice and now fits good. I have a long length waffle knit robe made by a well-known manufacturer and it simply won't stay tied. This robe was 1/2 the price, and the strap stays tied. I live in the north-east (USA), this robe is a perfect weight from March to early November when sitting on the front porch with my morning coffee. The garment is well made, has held up with no wear and tear through several laundry cycles and fits well even though I've lost 15 pounds since I bought it.
