I have been looking for a good brush for 15 years!!! I wanted one that wasn't heavy, had a handle I could grip, had a cushion base, and bristles that were long enough that they would go through my pixie haircut. I needed to be able to reach behind my head and layer as well as flip my hair. My old one was in pathetic shape....but I couldn't find anything in the beauty supply shops to replace it. I've finally found my brush!! After purchasing more than four $20+ brushes and all of them failing me miserably, I was at the point where I felt like I might as well have just paid the $200 for a Mason Pearson brush. However, the 6th time was the charm and I found a perfect brush for my hair. I have very VERY thick hair, this brush is the best one I have purchased so far. Because my hair is so thick, the bristles could be a little longer but I am happy. It smoothes my hair and I can get it all the way to my scalp. The bristles feel nice on my scalp and the brush doesn't pull my hair out like the wire bristle brushes do. Love love love this brush. I have super thick coarse hair. This makes brushing easy. And for a bun or pony tail gets it slick if I want it. My kids don't love this one--too strong for them. I think the bristles might be longer on this one but for me this brush is the best
