  • Solid lens for it's price!
Size: Canon RF mount *: Black
The clarity and sharpness of this lens is amazing! Solid metal body, clicky aperture ring and smooth focus ring, could not go wrong. Used it on a Canon R50 and the shots are phenomenal. Great in low light as well. My only ick about it is the lens cap being a metal screw on. Annoying screech, and takes too much time to remove when in a hurry to capture something. May need to purchase a quick release lens cap separate. ... show more

  • Excellent value, but just a good lens, too
Size: Fuji-X mount *: Silver
There’s probably not much I could say about this lens that hasn’t already been said. It feels like a quality piece when you open it up, and performs extremely well for the price. If you don’t mind the manual focus and smooth aperture ring, there is no better deal on a lens out there. Just get it.

  • Amazing value lens
Size: Fuji X mount *: Black
Pretty damn sharp lens for $125. I use it with my XH1 and it’s a lot of fun. The focus ring is smooth and has a nice resistance to it. Bokeh is nice. Can’t really beat it for the price. It doesn’t compare to my Zeiss Loxia’s but that’s not what I got it for.

  • Decent for amateur portraits and subject isolation
Size: M4/3 mount *: Black
I have a GX85 and purchased this lens since I wanted to practice with manual focus and I thought it might be and inexpensive option for taking portrait of the kids every so often. For those purposes, the TTartisan 50mm f1.2 is a decent option. Contrary to some reviews I've seen, this lens is not what I would consider sharp. However, it still produces more than acceptable results when wide open, particularly in the center of the image. The edges aren't great, and the corners are worse. If you stop it down, things improve a bit, but after about f 2.8 I didn't notice much further improvement. While the corners become more acceptable, they never get completely sharp. I think my expectations were set incorrectly by other reviews (even for the APS-C version) which made it sound like it was a "razor sharp" which this lens is definitely not. Quality control may not be great. The first copy I received was really bad in one of the corners, and the replacement had what looks like a small defect in the coating. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to affect the photos in any noticeable way. Quality control aside, I have no complaints on the overall construction which is all metal and heavy. The bad copy had a little trouble locking onto the lens mount, but the replacement was as good as the Panasonic lenses I have. The aperture ring has a nice click and the focus ring is smooth and easy to use even with gloves. With the shallow depth of field, focusing can be a little touchy and I think the lens could benefit from a larger throw. The focus scale is in the general ballpark, but it doesn't seem accurate enough to rely on. Both lenses focused a little past infinity at the infinity marking. It comes with a TTartisan branded metal screw on lens cap and a generic rear lens cap. At first, I was a little disappointed because other reviews made it sound like this lens was sharper than it was. After using it for a little while, I determined I like the lens for what it is. It does have a much shallower depth of field than any other lens I have and the out of focus area is nice and smooth. My only other prime (the Panasonic 25mm 1.8) is a lot more busy/distracting. I think bokeh balls are nice wide open, but they get a little strange shaped (almost like octagons) as you stop the lens down. Overall, you can still get some very nice shots and for someone who isn't going to buy an expensive lens just for portraits this gives me a different look than the kit telephoto zoom. At full price I'm not sure I'd recommend this lens. The Panasonic kit 45-150mm zoom can be regularly had for under $150 which isn't much more. The Panasonic is fully automatic, sharper at 50mm, and a much better all around lens that can get enough separation to take the occasional portrait of a family member. If you are OK with used lenses, I think the Olympus 45mm can be found used for only about $100 more than this lens at full price. If you can grab this lens on sale though, I think it's a much more compelling option. If you understand the limitations of this lens and are interested in what it does do well then even at full price it's a decent option. The attached photos are straight of camera without editing. ... show more

  • Awesome little lens
Size: Leica L mount *: Silver
Use this little lens with my Leica TL2. Reasonably sharp. Nice bokeh. Quality construction. Nice physical indents for the lens f-stop. Screw in lens cap provided. Looks and performs well with my Leica. Also comes with a nice lens case. Important! This is a manual focus lens. Overall really great lens. Recommended. ... show more

  • Great all metal build, good image quality
Size: Fuji X mount *: Black
Nice compact all metal build. Clicked aperture (yay!) and even a DOF scale right at the focus ring. Maybe not the sharpest at f1.2 but you're going to pay 20x more for something that is. I love the metal threaded front lens cap - confidence that it's not coming off in your camera bag.

  • Started off great
Size: Sony E mount *: Silver
I loved this lens at first, great image quality. However I've owned this less than a year, and whatever grease or lubricant used for the aperature blades has started running onto the blades. This is going to cause issues when taking photos and possibly damage the lens, I did reach out to tt artisan service department. Never received a resolution, beware of this company if you experience a defect. I have vintage lenses from the 70's that are still holding up, this one hasn't lasted a year. ... show more
