I live in a restored 1930's apartment building but the area under my sink was an eyesore when I moved in. I store a lot of cleaning products under there as well. Not only does this mat add some protection and functionality to that area, but it's certainly improved the appearance of the previously stained and painted plank underneath. While the mat turned out to be slightly thinner than my expectations, its look and feel seem to be pretty durable. There also a small lip along all the edges, which not only serves as a barrier, containing any potential leaks or spills from seeping onto the kitchen floor but also acts as a safeguard against corrosion and damage to the wood underneath. Measuring 28x22 inches, the mat fits snugly around the perimeter beneath my sink, providing near-perfect coverage. Though it may be a tad wide in the very back by about two inches, it still easily lays flat. I have a reverse osmosis filter setup under my sink, and even though it is in a plastic tub, I am worried about spills, especially from slow leaks after filter changes. Plus, years of using the area under the sink for storing chemicals and even grease jars have turned the surface into a stained crater scape, so instead of days of sanding and grain filling and sanding and priming and painting, I decided to put this nice mat in as a visible upgrade over even a perfectly fine cabinet floor. I like the low spill protection lip that has small extensions to keep the lip upright. The entire mat is so flexible, they had to reinforce those edges and the engineering behind it seems to work well. The surface is a nice pattern and easy to wipe clean. It fits perfectly into my 3 foot wide standard counter depth cabinet under the sink. There are many other uses for this large mat, like a place to put several pairs of wet winter boots from the entire family. It will hold the melt water in and wash out easily. ... show more

I'm doing a lot of reorganization and spring cleaning, and this "Under Sink Mat 28" x 22" Waterproof Silicone" was exactly what I needed for under my kitchen sink. Silicone, so easy to clean. There's a edge to contain liquid spills and leaks, but the whole thing is flexible enough (see photo) that you could still use it if there is a pipe or something sticking out on the floor of the cabinet. I actually like that it's lightweight so that it's not a battle to get it in and out of the cabinet. It's not going to contain a major leak because the sides are not rigid; it's more to protect from smaller drips and chemical spills. No weird scent out of the package. I could see this being used in a bunch of ways...doing crafts, gardening or trimming herbs, even something like a travel mat in the car for your puppy. The current list price of $16.99 seems fine for what you get...I've seen under sink mats with much higher price tags. ... show more

This is a nice size mat that will fit under a lot of sinks. Unfortunately, this will only work under sinks where the pipe does not go straight down into the floor. I'm going to have to cut a slit in this to get it to fit under my sink, which kind of defeats the purpose of it helping to contain any leaks that might happen, but I'm looking more for a mat that will make it easier to clean underneath my sink, and since I can remove this at will, it fits my purpose. It is of a thinner silicone, and is really floppy, so keep that in mind if you're looking for something sturdy. The lip on it is nice to contain any leaks or spills, but since it is so floppy, you'll have to be careful if you're removing it to dump it. ... show more

When I ordered this I didn't pay attention to the fact that this is a flexible mat and I was pleasantly surprised. It has the durability of a hard plastic mat, but is easier to wash and store while still being durable. The rim holds its shape. This is the perfect solution for an extra wintertime boot-tray that I can pop in the closet when I don't need it. This will also be great for travelling with my dog as a food/water bowl tray as it can be rolled up and tossed in the car. The only con I found is that the silicone attracts dog hair, but is easily rinsed off in a bathtub. ... show more

Under sink either in the bathroom or in the kitchen is generally a neglected area in house maintenance. The kitchen sink is visited twice or thrice daily but we take out the required item like dishwasher tablet, cleaning sprays, sponge etc and put it back without a detailed look on health of the cabinet. It took extensive cleaning and required me to gut out and replace the wooden board on the floor if the cabinet under our sink. Be still my OCD heart! This sink mat is great. I wish I had gotten this years ago to prevent the stains from a small leak from my pipes. The mat fits the space well.
