I never leave reviews. In fact been an amazon prime member since that was even a thing and this is my first review. But I feel compelled to tell you how this item saved my couch (pun intended). Do you remember that scene in the dark knight rises where bane breaks Batman’s back by lifting him over his head and dropping him to the ground? That’s basically what I did to my couch everyday for 5 years. Except instead of lifting the couch over my head, I threw myself on it from dizzying heights. And after living over 60 months in an abused relationship, apparently it had enough. And it was starting to pay me back. All of a sudden, after a session of sitting I would get up and it felt like my back was broken, cuz there was literally no support left where I normally sit. Well played sofa. Well played. Disclaimer: the only spot of the couch in suffering was where my behemoth of a man frame sat everyday. Enter this couch saver. I was skeptical it would actually do anything, but it’s literally saved me from getting a new couch. The fabric supporting the cushion in the bad spot was skretched so far down it was only a matter of time before I was sitting on the floor. But this thing filled that void… just like tacos fill the void in my soul… and lifted me right up back to where it all began. The good ol days. The ways things used to be. I have no more back pain. And the couch looks brand new again, which I’m sure makes it feel better about itself. There’s nothing worse than a couch with low self esteem. How long will this solution last? Not sure. But I know it’s been holding strong for a month and I don’t see any signs of that changing. So even if I only get a few months out of this product it will be money well spent. I imagine I’ll get MUCH longer tho. So do yourself a favor and stop looking at other products and just buy this one. Your couch and your back will thank you. ... show more

They do add support, but are visible from the front of the sofa. Since my original review, I was successful in stuffing the supports inside the zippered cushions. Now they work and are out of view :-)
