Description

Triple 8’s Wristsaver Wrist Guards for Skateboarding is protective gear that provides wrist support and uncompromising wrist protection and are a great accessory to go with any Triple 8 helmet. The wrist savers let you skate hard and fall harder, offering suitable hand protection for skateboarding, roller skating, and snowboarding. Incorporating high-density, impact-resistant, replaceable ABS splints on the front and back for support, shock absorbing EVA foam for cushioning, and tough, 4-way stretch nylon mesh, the Wristsavers have a snug but comfortable fit. Available in two styles: the Wristsaver I: Strap Closure has a butterfly strap design with 3 hook-and-loop straps to customize fit, while the Wristsaver II: Slide On Sleeve has a nylon mesh sleeve and utilizes a single hook-and-loop strap for easy on-and-off. Available in four sizes to fit kids, youth, and adults: Junior fits 6–7 in (15.5 cm-18 cm), Small fits 7–8 in (18 cm-20.5 cm), Medium fits 8–9 in (20.5 cm–23 cm), Large fits 9–10 in (23 cm–25.5 cm). To determine proper size, measure hand circumference at the knuckles. Sold as a pair. Manufacturer's 180-day limited warranty.

I had these for less than a week before crashing at 20 mph on an electric skateboard. It without a doubt saved my wrist, which would've definitely been broken without the guard, but ended up as shown in the picture. It didn't feel secure with one strap ripped like that, so I ended up sewing some soft leather on the inside to hold together and that has been working well and feels much more sturdy. The material it comes with is a very thin mesh that won't handle more than mild friction, if that. To conclude I'd say the guard is definitely functional and safe, but is kind of a single use item that won't last more than a couple significant falls. I purchased the Wrist guards at the same time I bought an Onewheel. I'm very satisfied. I had read in the reviews that they ran a little small so I grabbed the Large size. I'm glad I did. I'm 5'9 with medium-sized hands and the Large fits perfectly. I've been using them for over a month and am extremely happy with the purchase. They are very well made (not cheap at all) and very durable. All the material and stitching are solid. Also, I really like the design of the splints which protect the wrist and palm. The palm sprint is slightly curved which makes me feel very secure. If I go down, I'm going to be very happy I'm wearing these. In regards to the "easy slip on and off", this is true. Essentially, you will need to loosen up the straps fully and then pull them on and off. Tighten them up again and boom - off ya go. Pretty simple. 5 Star product for the price and quality. No cons. --- Update 4/24/2021 --- It's been about 2 years now since I purchased these wristguards. After taking a few nasty falls, I stand by my 5-star rating. I highly recommend them. One fall, in particular, I was moving about 18 MPH on my OneWheel when the thing cut off for no reason.... (that's what I told my wife anyway...). Anyway, I was launched into the air and just couldn't get my feet under me in time. Luckily, I landed square on my knee pads and these Triple 8 Wristsaver II guards. Wow.... I slid about 5 feet on nasty asphalt. What should have been serious road rash or possibly worse, instead was just me jumping up and looking around to see if anyone saw my nasty spill. I got lucky, but, these wrist guards "saved me." ... show more

These wrist guards don't exactly scream quality. They're made of very thin synthetic materials. The quality of the stitching is poor. It's crooked with lots of loose ends. I normally wear most types of gloves in a large size which are usually a little bit snug. I ordered these wrist guards in a large size and they fit me fine. Functionally, I don't doubt that these wrist guards will provide proper protection. However I don't expect them to last me more than a few weeks of daily riding on my onewheel before the stitching and material's start to fail. And that's without encountering any falls. I'm still on the lookout for quality, well-made wrist guards. I don't mind paying a premium for quality products. Whatever the cost , it'll be far less than the medical bills if I break a wrist. Been there, done that. ... show more

I bought medium after measuring my adult hand, and it works but is snug. I’ll make it do. Agree with other reviews that it feels cheap. Not the plastic bars, front and back, but the actual cloth in the sides, which does stretch around the hand, is super thin. I think it will tear with the first fall, and not do well against time, UV light, and stretching. The elastic cloth that keeps the top half to the bottom half is the weak link if this product. I’m half ready to return it, but I’ll stick it out since they’re here and I need guards. Back to my 187 and, better yet, hillbilly brand wrist guards next time. Triple 8 has sold out to imported and cheaply made stuff, unlike ten years ago. ... show more

Excellent quality and design for my son and his One Wheel! Be sure to SIZE WAY UP though!! We measured and bought the recommend JR size based on the sizing chart for my 13 yr old— They were WAY TOO SMALL!!! Like probably would only fit a toddler, maybe 5 year old small... And my kids are slender in build, so if you’re bigger boned, consider up-sizing for that too We exchanged them for 2 sizes up (a medium), and they fit PERFECTLY! Nice and snug, so it doesn’t slide around, but not too tight so that it cuts off circulation and causes pain and discomfort (Which is what the Jr size pair did, and was recommend by the sizing chart) ... show more

I bought these for my 12 year old because she is going skiing and needed to protect her wrist. Well, when we got them we realized they were way to small. But she didn’t give up. She tried to shove her hand in the gloves and then we noticed her hand was turning purple so she pulled them out as fast as she could. When her hand was fully out we were shocked. It was all purple and looked like a blood vein had poped inside of it. Not long after we got the thought, I wonder if it will wash off. Guess what, with a little bit of soap and water the purple was gone. So Beware the ink on the brace does come off. But look on the bright side the wrap does fit my 4 year old perfectly and she loves them. She has been wearing them all the time and will rarely take them off. ... show more

These have saved me a few times. I knew these would be the most important tool in my self protection ensemble. My first night riding my electric unicycle my pedal hit the side of speed bump I was going around and I toppled to the ground. I cut one of my right fingers on the pavement and ripped the left elbow of my jacket, but, I didn't break my wrists. I wear leather gloves when I ride now, under my wrist guards. I never use my EUC without my wrist guards. They are getting a little frayed along their hemlines after eight months of use. I will do some hand sewing to repair the seems that are unraveling. . . but for twenty bucks, they've saved me at least twice and I've owned them for nine months, that's not bad. ... show more
