Bought my first bike this year, a Harley - went for style over function and bought a half helm from the Harley store to go with it. $300 later, the chin strap attachment I had to get (I sucked at the ring-tying) sucks hard - I'm getting bugs lodged in my ears (I ride a lot in country fields), and I'm clinically deaf from the wind after a short 45-minute ride. Sizing Chart: The sizing chart is pretty accurate, I have a big head (lot of hot air in there I guess) and where I thought going a size up was going to be roomy it's actually quite snug but still comfortable. Chin Strap: Kicks the crap out of both the default ring on the Harley helmet as well as the additional clip I had to buy. You "un-snap" your chin strap similar to Ski boots...just lift and pull. Where the Harley Helmet moves a bunch when I'm over 50 mph, this helm stays put. Padding: Extremely comfortable - the snug fit makes it kinda tricky putting my glasses on after I put the helmet on, with an upside that the padding holds my glasses in place so there's no "nose sliding" as I look around. The padding is a little bit tight on my ears - but this helps for a more quiet ride. Visors: Clear visor is indeed super easy to remove. Tinted visor is a snug fit when down, very little if any air coming in under the visor. My only complaint here is that the sun glare can make visuals opaque - this is the only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 on comfort. Bear in mind - this is sun in the face at 6:00pm, midday it's good. Chin Guard: TONS of air flow coming in through the chin guard - literally feel the air moving to the back and around my head. At a price of $70 - you seriously can't go wrong with this helm. Love the design too - went with the green one, wouldn't go back. ... show more

Just look at this thing. It’s just cool. But then you get it and it’s comfortable, fits well, light weight, you can see out of it with no issue, and then you realize… the whole face piece comes off for summer rides. The matte black and greys and USAF logos just feels like a much more expensive helmet than it is. I tend to wear this one more than my regular, much more expensive helmet. ... show more

    • Frustrating in a couple ways, but ok.

The media could not be loaded. Total mixed feelings on this helmet and here's why: for one, the lever which controls the raising and lowering of the inner sun visor is a clunky and doesn't slide easily. Yes, you can operate it with one (unloved) hand but not smoothly. Second, the detachable lower face guard feels somewhat insecure in how it attaches to the helmet. The little latches which hold it on don't really make an audible click so it's hard to know if it's really attached or not. A couple times I thought it was only to have it come loose on me. Fortunately I've caught it in time so it didn't fly away. Otherwise it's a decent helmet. The clear visor feels high quality, slides easy, and clicks securely into place. The chin strap is very comfortable and sits exactly where you want it to be, and the helmet exterior feels sokid. It's a bit of a mushroom helmet but I've certainly seen worse in that department. For the money, I suppose it's a decent buy but I think I'd prefer to have spent a bit more on something with amore refined design and better engineering on its components. ... show more
