I used this come-along as a chain hoist to lift the front-end of my lawn tractor so I could change the mower blades. In the photo, the hoist is attached to a hook mounted in the header for the door to my shed. The chain on the hoist was too short to reach all the way to the ground, but a 6-foot canvas sling was used to take up the slack. A sling was needed anyway since there was no convenient place to attach the hook of the hoist to the tractor. It all worked really well.
