It's a shame that Traxxas ships most of their rc trucks with cheap made plastic parts knowing they will soon break and THEN want to sell you more expensive metal replacement parts. I have to say, it's a good business model.

I bought this not paying attention to it being for an xmaxx and instead of canceling i waited for it and tried to see if it would fit.. only difference between this and the 6447X 46 tooth is this one is a tiny bit wider. More tooth to grab... so why not?

    • They break sometimes get over it
The X-maxx is a $1000 HUGE rc and if you complain about a $10 part breaking because of improper gear mesh (most of the time) wrong hobby for you.. so many people complain about these breaking, and don’t properly set the mesh. 8s xmaxx has only done it 2 times and one of which was MY FAULT

Don't waste your money. Especially if you upgraded to belted tires you are going to strip both your pinion and spur gears. It's best to buy mod 1 harden steel. Hot Racing makes great spur gears for your XMaxx.

Only just got it in the mail on the 6th of July. Broke in less then 2 minutes.

    • On my 4th Steel Spur with Maxx V2
Every few runs I need to replace a steel spur gear in the Maxx V2 and teeth are breaking off. What in the world is the junk steel made of? The sealed cover gets so much dirt and rocks inside even though the screws are all tight. Terrible durability from the Traxxas Maxx. Love the performance of the Maxx V2 but had to also upgrade the OEM plastic axles to steel because those all warped. When I called their tech support they deny have any issues and with a snobby attitude saying "hey it's a hobby" I feel ripped off and I am officially done with Traxxas. I have owned so many of their cars/trucks but never again. JUNK! ... show more
