  • Very good fitness/smart watch at a great price
Color: Black
I have been using Fitbit fitness/smart watches for several years and I currently have a Fitbit Versa 2. When I found out Tranya made a fitness/smart watch I decided to try it out as I've been a fan of their bluetooth headphones. Because I'm so familiar with Fitbit, a lot of my "cons" below are features that I'm used to on my Versa 2 that are not available on the Tranya smartwatch. But since the Fitbit Versa 2 is about 3 times the price of the Tranya watch, you really can't expect it to have all the same features. And to be honest, most of those missing features really don't matter that much. After using the Tranya smartwatch for a week, I'm very impressed with the watch. If my Versa 2 died, I wouldn't mind replacing it with the Tranya watch, it's that good. There are definitely things I'd miss from my Versa 2, but at 1/3 the price this watch is seriously good. Take a look at my pros & cons below, and judge for yourself which features are the most important for you and whether this watch would be a good fit for you. Pros: -Can control music from the watch -Can check weather from the watch -Charger is proprietary cable, as is Fitbit's, but this charging cable is small, and has a strong magnet to easily connect to the watch. This design is MUCH better than Fitbit's big clunky charging cradle that wraps around the watch face -Battery life is very good - after a week of abnormally heavy use due to trying out all the features, it was still going. I used my Versa 2 on the other wrist while evaluating the Tranya watch, and it needed charging after a little over 5 days. -Notifications were very quick and reliable - actually even better than my Versa 2! -Can do custom image on the watch face by selecting an image from your phone -Screen is not too difficult to read in bright sunlight at default brightness. At max brightness, it's easy to read in sunlight. -Flashlight feature where you can turn on the watch face with a white light that can come in handy -Waterproof/dustproof - IP68 rating meaning it can withstand dust, dirt and sand, and is resistant to submersion up to a maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for up to thirty minutes. -The GloryFit phone app is used to manage the watch and track your stats. I found the app to be not quite as user friendly as Fitbit's app, but overall the app is quite functional and the more I used it the more it grew on me. -The watch and the band felt comfortable on my wrist even while wearing it for days on end; including while sleeping and during exercise. -Step count seemed accurate. I wore my Versa 2 on the other wrist during my evaluation time and at the end of each day, the difference in steps was never more than a few percentage points. Cons: -Can't double tap screen to "wake up" the watch. Have to push button or rely on the "raise hand" motion to turn on the display. However, you can turn on a "raise wrist to turn on display" option, which will detect when you raise your arm to view your watch and will turn on the watch face automatically. That feature worked well and the watch would indeed turn on whenever I'd go to look at the time. -Can't create new alarms on the watch itself. You also can't enable, or disable alarms from the watch. You have to do that in the smart app on the phone. The Versa 2 does allow you to create alarms and enable/disable them right on the watch itself and that is one feature I REALLY wish the Tranya watch could do as well. -Can't reply to text notifications on the watch - The Versa 2 does allow you to reply with either four "canned" responses, or you can activate a microphone and dictate a response. This is a nice feature, but it's not one I use very often, so it didn't bother me that the Tranya watch did not have this capability -Has a "find phone" feature that will ring your phone to help you find it, which is very nice, but despite trying this feature many times, it never worked for me. Even when I had my phone right next to the watch. It might just be an issue with my phone, I'm not sure. -No easy way to exit the stopwatch mode - The one button on the Tranya watch didn't exit the stopwatch mode, it merely started/stopped the stop watch. It took me a long time to figure out how to get out of that mode. The only way I could figure out how to do it was to let the watch face "go to sleep" and then upon pushing the button you were back at the main screen of the watch -No floors climbed stat -Can track workouts, but missing common workouts I use on my Fitbit, including elliptical machine, treadmill, and stair climber. Strange to leave those off, but include things like badminton & ping pong. -Sleep tracking was not very accurate. It would consistently show me having fallen asleep much later than I climbed into bed. I'm certain I was asleep well before it detected that I was asleep. My Fitbit seemed much more accurate in this regard. ... show more

  • Battery Isn't All That
Color: Black
PROS: 1) Of All the apps that connect with smart watches, GloryFit, which this watch uses, appears to be the best based on my lengthy search for an app that would sync with Google Fit or with WW (WeightWatchers ). I didn't realize it at the time of purchase, but researching the app the watch uses is critical to buying a watch you'll be happy with. I got lucky. Google Fit syncs with WW, so it's a middle man app for me, but hey, it works. 2) All the features work well, SMS notifications, Music, and fitness tracking time tracking work etc. I always have my phone handy (except in the pool) so I just shut the messages off. Same with music. 3) It's nice that I can personalize the watch with a personal photo, but it wasn't a must have. 4) The swim tracking is a MAJOR plus for me. It's my primary reason for buying this watch (or any actually). I know it's very accurate as I've compared it to my finger lap counter/time swimming. It's almost identical. Might be off a min or so, but over or under isn't critical for me. It's an IP68, which is comparable to 5ATM, with 5ATM being the better rating for waterproofing. DO NOT go with IP67 or lower. Make sure you have the right level of protection if you're a swimmer. DO NOT use this in a hot shower or sauna. It will damage the watch. I've used it in the pool for the past six weeks at least 2-3 times doing 1/4 mile in laps, and it's still working hard. CONS: 1) It took me a few weeks to figure out that while swimming laps, if I take a break I just have to tap the active screen tracking my swim to pause it. That wasn't in the help manual that I could find. But I can't take a break for too long or it shuts down the tracking without notice. THAT I DO NOT like. 2) This watch NEEDS a battery icon to track the amount of battery left. This is the biggest gripe I have. Battery life continues to decrease as pointed out in other reviews. I have to charge it about every 5 or so days right now. I wouldn't mind it so much if the watch had a battery life icon on the dial that I could monitor. It's frustrating to get to the pool and the bloody thing dies. While I have a lap counter on my finger for laps and time, I have to manually add my swim data into Google Fit to transfer to WW if the watch dies on me. ALL batteries degrade over time, that's just a fact of life. I have to charge my phone at least twice a day because I use it all the time. I imagine over time I'll have to charge this watch at least once a day. I'll probably do that at night as I've a CPAP machine that monitors my sleep. So it's not the lost of battery charge that irritates me, it's my inability to see how much charge is left. 3) The accuracy of the heart rate is a bit off, but I guess even the smallest of movements in the hands makes a difference. I type fast so the rate has fluctuated between 80bpm and 104bpm 4) the "shake your wrist to light up the dial" feature is hit or miss. However, pushing the button the side is something I've gotten used to. 5) I wish it had an oxygen level feature. PRO/CON ITEMS: The watch band is lousy. I couldn't adjust it well for my wrist size. The band that comes with it had notch holes that made it either too tight or too loose. I also didn't like the feel of the rubbery watch band. I solved that by buying a magnetic wrist band, which is AWESOME!! Easy to adjust when it slips while doing activity. The link here is the band I bought, and it changes out quite easily. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B092VNHFPB Overall, I give this watch a 4.5 rating. I bought it at the end of December '21. It still has a few things to improve upon, but it's a solid working watch, and you get value for your money. I wear it daily except at night. It's helpful to track my steps, but most importantly my swimming and transferring data via Google Fit to WW works smoothly. I like it, and time will tell how long it will last. ... show more

  • Nice and Simple
Color: Black
This is the first smart watch I have ever purchased. I was always in the market for a smart watch but the price was just outrageous. So I decided to shop around Amazon for a cheaper alternative. I have tried a few Tranya earbuds and love them. So I decided to give their smart watch a try. I love them simplicity of the design and user interface. Everything was so easy to understand and use. The device look so good in the color and slickness. Very chic. It is very comfortable to wear for long periods. I have been wearing it for two days and nothing bothers me. I will say that I have thick wrists and I wish the wrist bands were a little bit longer but it isn’t a big issue. The battery life is amazing. I’ve been using it for two days and still have battery to spare. Everything works perfectly. The heart rate monitor is very accurate as is the workout informations. When I workout, the devices reads steps, calories, and stuff very accurately. The information is then stored in the GloryFit app which syncs with the device. I have to say that it is water and sweat proof. I sweat a lot during workouts so that was very important to me. Also I absolutely love that there are so many options for the home page designs. There are many options so there is bound to be one that fits you. I do have some things I would have like to see. I wished that you can answer phone and messages directly from it. You can see the incoming messages and phone calls, but still have to pick up or reply through your phone itself. Another thing is that I have yet to find a way to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Overall, I think that this device is well worth the price or even beyond. It functions exactly as advertised with no problems so far. This is a nice starter smart watch for those price conscience people out there. ... show more
