  • Haven't use it yet.
I know folks that have this kit and are huge fans. Looking forward to using this.

  • Trangia 27 HA
I ordered the Trangia 27 Hard Anodized set. I love this set and used it immediately. It came with the nonstick fry pan which I duly washed and rubbed with oil per included directions. The next day I fried a quesadilla in it and saw no change in the finish. This set will see daily use for the foreseeable future and I will update as to how it holds up. ... show more

  • The BEST backpacking stove system!
I'm a true "Stovie", with about 15 different stoves, from old Optimus 8R and 111s, Primus Alpine and MSR Wisperlite and Reactor, to homemade brass alcohol stoves and I find the Trangia 27 to be the most efficient and easy stove system I have ever had. The windscreen system allows it to work great in any weather and it boils 0.5 liters of water in 9 minutes. Not as fast as some white gas or propane/ butane cartridge stoves, but a few extra minutes is not a big deal if you're going out into the woods to relax anyways. At a little under 2 pounds it may not be the lightest, but it includes everything you need. If you use a white gas or cartridge stove you still need some sort of pot(s) and windscreen, and perhaps a fuel pump. By the time you add it all up, you're close to or over the weight of the Trangia system. And the Trangia even includes a frying pan. Another nice feature is how it all fits into a compact package. Another big plus is that it's incredibly stable, unlike most other stoves that are high and can tip easily. Lastly, it's silent, simple and there are no moving parts.......nothing to beak down! I haven't tried it in cold weather yet, but I think a piece of aluminum foil under the windscreen will be enough to reflect enough heat up to keep it working well. After trying everything else, I finally found what I think is a wonderful system. I wish I found it earlier. ... show more

  • Finish will last approximately 1 cook
With an open flame sauteing vegetables in a pan with butter and olive oil, the finish on this anodized pan and pot both ended up crazing or getting small micro fractures throughout. I was shocked! I reached out to Trangia. It took about a week or so but I did give a reply saying that I needed to coat the pan in lard or oil first. They also said an open unsimmered flame could damage the finish. I found that quite silly, that a product could be damaged so quickly. They recommended I reach out to the retailer, so I did. I returned the kit. I ordered a trangia burner again by itself, and I have done 3 cooks with it and 2 of the ports are clogged due to the inner placement of the wick being too close to the holes. I really want to support the brand. I ended up going with a less expensive Chinese competitor. It doesnt have as high end of a feel, but it also is made of stainless steel and has not damaged itself right away. I have 2 trangia burners, 2 fuel bottles, and the hard storage container. I like the made in Sweden idea, but it makes me sad when made in China gives me less problems. ... show more

  • Great product, but there's one thing I would change
Great product, fun cooking outdoors - the flame is excellent and the heat spreads pretty equally. Cooks very well in windy conditions. Feels like cooking at home. The only thing I would change is the way one has to put the flame dimmer in place during cooking - I got burnt several times trying to throw it in the open flame and placing it on spot. It's also difficult to handle it when trying to put the flame out. I improvised something with an iron thread, but I think trangia should put their mind to it. *** update: I forgot some leftover alcohol in the burner for about 2 months, and the burner and its cover got stains on them (something like rust). It also leaked a bit into the yellow bag where its kept (inside the kettle I bought along with the trangia 27). I guess you can keep some alcohol in the burner for a couple of days, while on trekking/camping, but don't make the same mistake I made and don't leave it for too long... I can still use the burner but I guess it might completely deteriorate someday... ... show more

  • As Expected
I reaserched my butt off before getting this kit. No it's not the cheapest but by far the best design. Went on a 2 day camp trip and had never used it before and it was simple to use and incredibly fast and efficient. Use Everclear as your fuel Yea, a little more expensive but no chemicals, 95 percent 190 proof grain alcohol and 5 percent water. No residue of anykind every thing looks like the day you bought it which is amazing. Also do yourself a favor and DO NOT try to save a few bucks on the fuel container. I purchased the Vargo and in the hour it took to get to the camp site it some how leaked, lucky for me I had it in a zip look just to be on the save side. So spend the money on the Trangia bottle cause there is no fuel spill that cleans up easy and it's a waste of fuel. ... show more

  • great camping gear.
I was looking for lighter cooking tools, I was tired of lugging around my cast iron pans and pots, so i decided to go with Trangla set. After much research from the reviews here and on youtube. i decided this set was for me. This is a compact and light set that fits nicely in my ruck. It works great and cooks pretty fast if you don't load it down with too heavy of a stew or food. it works great, and now i am thinking of getting another one for my camping buddy. I am so happy with this set, i might even look at their other products, like the kettle. ... show more

  • Great system
I have several high end camp stoves, and I would not hesitate to purchase this again...just maybe not from Amazon. They should include the carry bag/cover (instead, I had to order it separately). This is not for the ultralight backpacker, but it still works very well. I boiled water in just a few minutes with plenty of fuel leftover. I wish I had timed it, but I did not think of it. I have not tried frying on it, but I am sure it will work well. For me, it is not too big or too heavy. It nests well, and it is VERY easy to use. ... show more
