I like this umbrella. It's very sturdy and the same size when closed as a name-brand I have and opens wider (42"). It opens with the push of a button, like most others of this type, but also partially collapses with the same push of a button, unlike some others I've had which I have to pull to collapse & shut (note that you still have to pull the collapsed top part down the shaft to lock it in place, but this makes it much easier to deal with when getting into a car in the rain). It comes with a storage bag but it's too small/tight to ever really use it after you first take it out...but that's ok as it has a Velcro tab to keep tightly wrapped - although I wish this was a bit wider. The double vented canopy is a nice touch for an umbrella at this very fair $9.99 price point. ... show more

I have had 2 other umbrellas from Amazon that cost nearly twice as much as this. One broke on the first use and the other one is nicer than this, but not that much nicer. This is a good purchase. There are 8 strong supports that have taken some abuse. The wind vents also work well. It is not perfect. The shaft is a little short and you may have to hold your hand higher than is comfortable if you have a tall friend. And, the retract button closes the dome but doesn't close the expandable shaft. You have to turn the umbrella upside down and push it in, which will likely lead to early failure. That said, for less than $15 this is a good purchase. ... show more

I work several days a week doing public presentations in an outdoor venue that is "rain or shine." I needed a compact umbrella that could fit in my bag with all my other kit. I chose this one because it is compact, lightweight, and has a robust auto-open/close feature with strong ribs/stretchers and a double vent so your umbrella doesn't fold inside out in the wind. This umbrella did not disappoint - in fact, since I have never had an umbrella with an auto-close feature, it actually surpassed my expectations. If I had one complaint, it would be the bag for carrying it around. It is so snug that you really need to have patience (far more than I possess) to get it back in the bag and I find it too annoying to use. That's a shame, but doesn't lessen how much I like the umbrella itself, so I still highly recommend it. ... show more

I think this hits the perfect balance of build quality to cost. I don't like spending a lot on umbrellas as they tend to get lost/left behind. It tends to get windy near me so I need something reasonably well built which this one appears to be. Not overbuilt by any means just well built for the price. Great umbrella—small and light, looks to be quality made. Love the auto open and auto close feature. This can easily fit in a small bag, though it’s not as big as I would have like but it’s perfect for those quick trip to the store. This umbrella is large enough to protect against fast rain but still small, light weight and very portable. It fairly kept well when I encountered a bit of wind. The two buttons are very easy to open or close with small pressure. One thing to note, the storage bag that comes with it is very tight and snug. This is a great little umbrella that gives you opportunities to bring it along with you where you go. The umbrella will withstand winds as it has an opening to prevent it from pulling you away or reversing itself. Great design and compact!
