As a dad who does a lot of skating indoors, artistic/Rhythm, teaching my 4yr old son how to skate in these has been a great "next step" from the smaller "Roller Derby" brand skates with the larger back wheel and smaller front wheel with the heel stop. These skates put his heel in a slightly elevated position similar to an adult boot style skate, which has helped him make a seamless transition. My 2 year old daughter is two and going through the same path with the previously mentioned skate and I plan to buy her a pair of these in the next year or two as well. The only down side is the inner shoe is removeable and requires a lot of readjusting each time he puts them on and occassionally while he is skating...but they are still a pretty solid pair of skates that work well for this age group. ... show more

I ordered these skates yesterday and we received them today. My son normally fits a size 2 so I am glad I purchased the large. With these skates, he still has some wiggle room...I love the fact that you can properly adjust the size to fit your child's feet. My son is super excited about his field trip and can not wait to show his friends his new skates. He tried them on immediately and could not stop smiling. Happy child = satisfied customer!!! Excellent value for the price. Size is true, and the skates are easy to adjust. Wheels and bearings are easily adjusted as well and they work great indoors and outdoors. The insoles or foot padding could be thicker, we just added thicker socks. We purchased these skates during a recent growth spurt and are so glad that they have survived. We hope to get at least a few more months of use before our daughter outgrows them.. thankfully, they will still be in great condition to pass down to the newphews. These skates are great to share amongst siblings if you have some that are close in sizes. We purchased inline and quad skates that the kids can interchange between.     • Great skates for growing feet! If you're torn about what size to get, get the bigger size.
I bought these skates for both of my sons. They are 7 and 9 years old and wear 1.5 and 2.5 in U.S. big boys shoes. I bought both of them the Large (2-4) size skates and they both say they fit just fine. The skates were indeed red and gray like the picture. The skates have a tag on them that says they're size 3-6. I don't know what size they truly are but they fit my kids good. We're all happy. They have been using them to skate on our cement driveway and on the paved road. One of them managed to bang the skate so hard on the first day that one of the sets of wheels twisted to one side but I was able to jam them back into place with some effort and they haven't done it again yet. These skates were great for learning to skate and for growing feet and weren't too expensive. :) ... show more

My kid wears a size 1 shoe. We bought large size skates for him which are supposed to adjust between sizes 3-6. When we set the skates to the largest size and had the kid wear it, they fit his size 1 foot with almost no room to spare. He would probably outgrow these in 3 months. Their sizing scheme has no relation to any conventional sizing scheme, looks like. Had to return them. ... show more

It took my six year old a few tries to figure out the buckles but once he did it was very easy to do himself. They arrived with the padded foot part in the skate (almost like a thick sock) and we did not remove it, just slid the foot in. The outer part is hard plastic and adjusts to size. He wears a size 1 shoe and we ordered the 12-2 size. There seems like a lot of room to grow. It took him about one day to get up and rolling outdoors. He fell a bunch and definitely needed knee, wrist, elbow pads and a helmet. We bought a set from here for skateboarding and used those. The skates seem sturdy. I was surprised at the quality. He did say his big toe hurt so we adjusted several times. ... show more

So far, these are great. They really do adjust to different sizes, and the way they do it is so clever. It's not at all like those skates that adjust and fit over sneakers. The inner boot (which is padded durable fabric) has velcro and can be lengthened. The rigid skate part also extends with a push of the button near the heel of the skate. They are very smooth and easy to adjust. My son loves these, and has been skating every day since he got them. I had to loosen the nut on the wheels as the wheels were a little too stiff.
