Like everyone else I had a Whal trimmer for decades and loved it, until i dropped it on the tile floor. Obviously, I turned right around and purchased a similar item except cordless. It was/is a hunk of junk. Enough said. Then I tried a cheap Peanut imitation. No good. Then started reading and figured the people reviewing this item all seem to be in the hair cutting business. Found one on sale for $32. What a great machine. Quiet and powerful. Love it! Can’t speak to longevity but I’m impressed with it at this point. This clipper works great. I keep my head shaved very short, and this has cut my trim time in half. It seems to have plenty of power and doesn’t bog down. It cuts great too, so no need for multiple passes. I’m glad I made this purchase.

First cut complete. Positives: The cutting blade stays much cooler than the Wahl Pro Series I’ve been using for 12 months. Wireless is a nice benefit—cutting the cord make a difference. The 5 click positions to change the blade length is nice upgrade. Why? The Wahl pro series blade length position changes and floats as I use it and changes cutting length which sorta drives me nuts. Light weight, noticeably lighter than the corded Wahl, but similar motor power. After my first cut, my hair feels like the Slime 2 are more blades precise and sharper, my fade is cleaner and crisper cut. I will measure the volume (dB) of the motor but it is QUIET, which is welcomed. Opportunities: The guards are low quality, but Wahl premium guards fit, will use those in the future with the Slime 2. The polymer used for the casing is light but always is thinner than my Wahl and has me questioning how long the product will last long term. Would be nice to have a travel bag of sort. The TPOB Slime 2 is a good value based on its price point, the bright colors make it fun to have on my countertop and I’ll provide an update in 6 months. ... show more

Everyone’s first thought when they see these clippers on Amazon is, “No way they’re good quality for such a low price”. I know, because I thought the exact same thing. But I decided to take a chance and try them out. I’ve been using these clippers 4-5 days a week for the past few months now and these things are incredible! They’re super quiet in comparison to other clippers, they cut really smooth and don’t struggle to grab hairs, and they’re lightweight and feel good to use! Now, the only “downfall” is that it’s an entirely plastic casing, not metal, soooo if you drop them, more than likely they’re going to break. However, that problem can happen with literally any pair of clippers, just, try your hardest NOT to drop them! Don’t hesitate, just buy them! If they’re not for you, then return them and feel good that you spent less than $100 to try them out, but I really don’t think you’ll want to return them! (A little side note about the guards it comes with, they’re a little rough on the head since they have a lot of sharp points and rough edges, probably could redesign the guards to be a little smoother and not so jagged, not really a major flaw just something I’ve noticed when cutting my client’s hair is they tend to flinch a little if the guard catches the skin or hits them in the ear.) ... show more
