I recently had purchased the BE800 to begin upgrading my home Wi-Fi. Coming from an old Nighthawk from 8 years ago, this was a big step. I had some reboot issues and problems starting connected for some devices, but overall was pleased with the increased range and speed. Then they finally released the GE800 in the US and I pulled the trigger right away to take advantage of the $100 discount that is ongoing until July 16th. Although I missed my LCD animations on the BE800, it was worth it for the increased number of devices, the perceived better range and so far much better reliability. The game enhancement features appear to be improving my gaming and I haven't had a single issue other than a DEAD power supply that came with it. I filed an RMA and used another supply with the same model number that I had. (UPDATE EDIT: I spoke with customer service, told them the issue with the power supply, and in less than a week received my replacement power supply. Very fast, very efficient, very consumer friendly!) The BE800 has become my satellite router for my EasyMesh network. Now I have seamless Wi-Fi throughout the home and I haven't had any need for rebooting or any other issues. The LED RGB on the router is a nice little feature, but lacks the usefulness that the small LCD on the BE800 had. I kept it simple and chose some custom colors and haven't thought of it again since I keep the router off to the side and more or less out of sight and mind. The Tether app is great and gives you a lot freedom for seeing Wi-Fi times, prioritizing certain devices, scheduling reboots and updates, customizing the RGB, and a few other great features. Overall this is a great router that should keep you at the front of the technology race for at least the rest of this year until the next big thing comes out. You'd likely be able to keep this router in your home network for the next few years without remorse. ... show more

    • A fast/vast improvement over my last WIFI router.

The problem is resolved, and the router now works flawlessly. The issue was a Home Assistant service querying the router's metrics using the administrator credentials. Update: After a few days of use, I am now having an issue with frequent and rapid disconnections from the router's admin website (it drops me back to the login page after about 30 seconds.) This makes it impossible to maintain the router. I've contacted TP-Link support for a solution, but I will have to return it if it can't be fixed. As you can imagine, this is extremely disappointing for what is considered a premium product. Easy to install and provides improved range and speed over my previous router. I replaced a TP Link AX 11000 with this newest, fastest router from TP Link. I have tried everything to get this router to work consistently, but have had no success. I updated the firmware, turned off QOS, played with other settings and I still have issues. The router continually drops internet connection every 20 to 30 seconds then reestablishes connection. WiFi 6 does not always appear when connecting to WiFi 6e devices. After three weeks of frustration with continuous dropped internet connections and WiFi connectivity issues, I put my AX 11000 back into service and everything is working well. I don't know if I received a defective unit, but I think dropped internet connection on the WAN side is due most likely due to bad hardware or bad firmware. Will wait until more reviews of this router prove it to be reliable before I purchase again. ... show more

After owning the TP-Link AX11000 since it launched, I decided to try the TP-Link BE800 to experiment with Wifi 7 and MLO. I literally bought it a week before I saw the GE800 being available in the United States, after looking at the specs (most were very similar between the two routers with Wifi 7 and the processor with the two key differences being that the GE800 had 2GB of RAM which is double the 1GB on the BE800 had along with the gaming optimization setting) and the price being the same, it was a no brainer that I returned the BE800 and purchased the GE800. Set up was super easy the tether app and I was easily able to set up three separate SSIDs for 2GHz, 5GHz, and GHz. I also set up the MLO (multi-link operation) to take advantage of wifi 7 on all 3 bands (works like the smart connect feature but for wifi 7 devices). Finally my wifi speeds match my ethernet speeds! My range is phenomenal and connection is very stable. I am looking forward to getting more wifi 7 devices soon as I could only check the speeds on a wifi 7 compatible Android device, but easily say 1Gbps up/download speeds on my 1gbps fiber connection. I am looking forward to upgrading my home internet speeds very soon and taking advantage of my new router’s true potential. So excited that I’m ready for the future and having a router the will be the cream of the crop for many years to come! I highly recommend this router to ANYONE that has a deep appreciation for technology and using the internet for virtually everything around the house. With the $100 coupon available from TP-Link to get the router for $499, don’t think twice, get it! ... show more
