My internet provider upgrade the router. Most of my wifi devices cant run on that. I bought this to give connection to those devices. The setup was very easy. The app excellent. Everything is working fine.

Need a cheap router for bringing wifi into my metal shop and this did the trick. Cheap enough that if something happened replacement wouldn't break the bank. The quality isn't high-end but has a relatively small foot print compared to traditional routers. This was coupled with a wireless bridge. This review is for the 2nd TP-Link Archer C54 wifi router that I purchased. I thought the 1st was defective but actually TP-Link or the seller Quality Photo are misleading Amazon buyers when they state in the listing "The 2.4GHz band delivers speeds up to 300Mbps, ready for everyday tasks like emailing and web browsing, while the 5GHz band delivers speeds up to 867Mbps ". While it's true that the 2.4 and 5Ghz industry specifications say these radio frequencies have that capability the manufacturer's use of 10/100 ethernet ports creates a bottleneck that will limit the speed to the maximum speed of th ethernet WAN port. In this case 100Mbps. This router is built with 10/100Mbps ethernet ports for both the WAN and LAN ports. Anyone (like me) paying for a HighSpeed ISP of more than 100Mbps will be dissapointed when the maximum speed they will get from this router is 100Mbps from either WiFi or ethernet cable connected. Returning both TP-Link Archer C54 Wifi Routers now! Amazon should tell Quality Photo to correct this listing and not mislead buyers! ... show more

    • Great compact router!
I have been using this router for the past 2 weeks with Spectrum modem and Spectrum internet 100 mbps plan and it is working great! Gives out a good signal and covers my 1500 sf house nicely along with the outdoor yard. I consistently get 94-95 speed test readings on my computers and 80-92 mbps readings on my televisions for streaming. Using the TP-link Tether app makes things much easier for setup. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend for speeds up to 100 mbps which is much more than I need for computer and streaming movies. ... show more

    • Not what I was looking for
It works but is limited to 100mbps which is completely useless when I have 500mbps service. And if you wanted to use the lab ports also capped at 100. This company usually has some good quality products but you have to go to the mid-tier or higher. I’d recommend if you just needed a quick fix or something temporary but I wouldn’t use it long term especially if you have service faster that 100mbps. ... show more
