I had a completely dead, high dollar battery in my Vette. This unit brought it back to life and repaired it. I had it tested with a handheld meter and the results were bad battery, replace. So, I ordered this based on the features it offered, and it worked like a charm. Next, I hooked it up to the battery in the truck and let it do its thing and wallah. Truck now starts quick just like it did the day I bought it. I read some reviews that said it would not work if battery was dead. At first, I had the same problem, but I moved the clamps from the small side post terminals where the cables screw in and attached them to the large posts on top. This thing is fantastic. Allows you to manually select what you need instead of those automatic chargers that think a very drained 12v battery is 6v. I wrote very negative review on this product and submitted it several hours before I got to realize that the real fault was with my old battery tester. I cannot cancel review in flight, but I took it down as soon as I could when it went live. This new update is to balance the wrong claim I made about product being defective. It turns out my old battery tested would severely overestimate the remaining change, so I had entirely unrealistic expectations on how long should it take for the charge to complete. I got a new tester that did show my 94Ah battery at ~30% charge, and thus it required about 60Mah to be completely charged. Lo and behold, the time this charger then took to replenish the battery at 15A was about 5 hours, extra time being spend in slow start and absorption stages, where the charger runs at lower amperage. The math holds and the product does work fine. I still deduct one point on easy to use and versatility because of somewhat confusing progress display on LCD - the percentage it displays does not seem to be based on actual battery charge level, but indicates the charging stage - bulk charging is hanging at 50% right until charger, absorption is 75%, and so on. This was replacing an old charger that I had for years. The repair and charging features of this charger are great. If it can save a single battery, it will have paid for itself and I believe it already has done that. I haven't tried the engine start mode, but I also have a jump pack and my old charger can also do that. On the negative side, I bought this model since it was supposed to charge from 1V. I'm not sure it actually works at that low of voltage but honestly, I didn't actually measure the battery I was trying to charge. Instead I got my old charger out and was able to charge the dead battery with that. ... show more

I use this to charger to charge my motorcycle battery, its auto sensing and can deliver the correct power to different types of batteries. Best part is, it turns itself off once charging has been completed. So if I attach it to a battery, I don't need to continuesly check it, it will automatically turn off once it's done. ... show more
