These lights had so much hope. The unit is smaller than it says. Holding a charge, it doesn't sustain it's power for long. As well, when charging it charged very slowly. It took overnight for one to charge and the other one never fully charged. They do shape well though, and it was a cool thought, just not at the size it actually came in. ... show more

    • Work well with long-lasting battery - but don’t sit flush to the wall
The Torchlet Sconces are an excellent solution for occasional lighting in hallways without easily accessible outlets or the need for wiring installation. Each sconce weighs a couple of pounds and hang easily on the included mounts. There’s a horizontal slot on the back that simply rests on a wide steel hook you screw (included) to the wall. The result isn’t 100% level no matter how much you attend to it, but no one other than the installer will likely notice. The light is consistent and reliable. I’ve used one multiple nights without charging it yet. Topping up is via USB-C so any charger you already have will probably work. The removability is key to the success of this sconce. You don’t have to figure out how to charge it in place and in the event of power outage you can easily move it around your home. The design is also pretty unique, aside from the mobility. The leds are lined up along two rotatable arms, allowing for really interesting shapes and lighting effects. I appreciate that the light shines on the wall, softening the effect and not blinding me at 2:00 a.m. The remote works well and controls both. Timers aren’t very customizable but the 1 to 8 hour increments are enough. My complaint is that they won’t sit flush on the wall, causing a slight downward tilt. No matter how useful, I can’t not see the tilt. That said, the pair is well worth the money. The combination of battery life, light output, and flexibility in shape and location make it a great set.
