Frequently asked questions

The TOPSTRONGGEAR 4 Gauge Amp Kit includes everything needed for a standard amplifier installation. This typically comprises true 4 AWG power and ground cables, a remote turn-on wire, RCA cables, speaker wire, an inline fuse holder with a fuse, and various connectors and terminals for a secure installation.

The kit is versatile and designed to be compatible with a wide range of car audio systems. However, it's most suitable for systems that require up to a 4-gauge power and ground wiring setup. It's always best to check your amplifier's manual for the recommended wire gauge to ensure compatibility.

The TOPSTRONGGEAR Amp Kit is known for its true 4 AWG (American Wire Gauge) specification, ensuring it delivers the promised thickness and quality, providing efficient power transfer to your amplifier. This contrasts with some kits that claim a certain gauge but deliver a thinner wire. The kit's quality components are designed for durability and optimum performance.

Yes, with some basic knowledge of car audio systems and careful adherence to safety guidelines, many users can install the kit themselves. It comes with all the necessary cables and connectors. However, if you're unfamiliar with car audio installations or uncomfortable working with your vehicle's electrical system, it's advisable to seek professional installation to ensure safety and optimal performance.

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Customers generally praise the kit for its comprehensive inclusions and good quality for basic audio installations, particularly highlighting its usefulness for upgrading or installing audio systems in vehicles at an affordable price. The kit has been lauded for its quality of wires and extensive functionality, able to support systems up to 1200w. However, some users advise caution regarding the kit’s compatibility with very high wattage systems, pointing out issues with the thinness of certain wires and the difficulty of working with the fine strands of the main power cable.

Pros

  • 👍 Good overall quality for price
  • 🔌 Comprehensive kit with everything needed for basic installations
  • ⚡ Suitable for systems up to 1200w, offering good functionality for most users
  • 🛠 Triple-braided speaker wires and durable insulation on cables

Cons

  • ❗ Caution advised for very high wattage systems due to wire thickness
  • 🧵 Difficulty working with the thin, fine strands of the power cable
  • 👎 Remote amp trigger cable considered too frail and small

Should I Buy It?

Yes, if you're looking for an affordable and comprehensive kit for basic to moderately advanced audio installations. It appears well-suited for users looking to upgrade their car's audio system without spending a fortune. However, if your setup demands extreme wattage or if precision and high durability in every component are key, it may be worthwhile to explore higher-end options.

  • Can't beat the value

Bought this 4g kit for my truck. It came as a very complete kit, everything I needed was there. Almost burnt my truck down due to not having a inline fuse, so this made a great replacement. Mount the fuse in engine bay! I really have no complaints for the price. Everything worked as it should.

  • It’s okay for the price…
Model: 4 Gauge
Honestly, just buy one kit for around 70 bucks. You can usually get zero gauge and a bomb ass fuse block. I originally bought this kit to put in my Tbss. Kit was delivered with a broken fuse. Nobody sells the particular fuse that is inside the block other than Amazon. Not to mention I took this system out three or four times only to find out that the remote wire that came with the kit was garbage spent two weeks trying to figure out why I wasn’t getting no sound to the speaker why the ant was getting power it was the remote the whole time Wire, decent ground good auxiliary cables and speaker wire. ... show more

  • A Couple Issues....cannot recommend
Model: 4 Gauge
The good: RCA cables and speaker wire look very good. The 4AWG cable is flexible and the insulation is durable. The bad: 4 AWG cable is made up of MANY, hair-like strands of copper. Even before it inevitably unravels, it's nearly impossible to fit into the connectors at the fuse. I'd much rather have fewer, thicker strands even if it makes the cable a bit less flexible. Just stripping the insulation on this crap leaves a little pile of copper hairs. If I had a high watt system, I'd have pulled this out and started over and believe me, that was a big project on this car! The remote AMP trigger cable is just too frail and small. My amp connection (Sundown, simple screw-down type) closed down on it and somehow bit right through the wire, twice. I even tried doubling up the wire before tossing it in the trash. A fix? A remedy to problems might be to buy a larger AWG (0,2?) fuse holder. I still would rather have thicker strands of copper...think welding cable instead. Just buy something else AND BEWARE AMAZON'S CHOICE!!! This does not equate to "Sears Best". ... show more
