I used this yesterday along with another carrier to take two cats to the vet. I put the smaller cat into this one because it was slightly smaller than my other carrier. The only "flaw", if you want to call it that, is the shoulder strap hooks onto the end panels so if you are putting your cat in that way, you need to unhook the strap. Other than that, it was solid. The cats liked it - our chonky girl who is over 20 lbs actually went into this carrier for our trip home. She went in herself and refused to vacate! So I can attest it'll hold a large cat with no problems. I didn't notice any weakness when she was carried in the carrier either. This carrier is no frills but good. The strap clipping in on the zipper panel is an interesting choice but after using it, it's not a deal breaker. No frills is perfect, I need the carrier to be able to hold the cat securely, to be easy to use/set up, and to have lots of mesh so the cat can see out and get airflow in there. This checks all those boxes! Two cats have been in there now with no complaints. (Except the trip to the v-e-t, of course.) ... show more

We already own a hard plastic pet carrier that is slightly larger than this new one, and it has always served us well. However, 99% of its life is spent taking up space in our garage, so there is that. Well this last week I made an appointment for our cats to be seen by our vet simultaneously; enter space saving cat carrier with long carrying strap. I'm not sure my cats will enjoy this carrier more than the other (carrier = Vet), but I'm loving the simple design and ability to break it down when not in use. The sides and top stay rigid while zipped shut and the bottom platform is in place, but there is no internal rods or anything to keep it structured. The platform piece has a zipper cover, which is nice, but there is no way of securing it to the bottom of the bag. I may put a few velcro pieces to keep it in place, because it plays a major roal in this carriers rigidity. For my limited cat needs all these factors shouldn't be an issue, but I probably wouldn't choose this carrier for dogs or regular use. Vet visits every 6mos to a year, it should work great. I think that the price seems fair and at 12 bucks a pop for the cardboard carriers my vet sells; I've saved money in two vet visits- but don't worry, I'm sure they will get it back elsewhere in my bill. I got this for my 13lb senior cat for our eventual move cross-country. I have another carrier for my 10lb cat that we like but I needed a second one. I like how many access options this kennel has because I know for a fact I will only be able to get the senior cat in through the top because he's too smart. I love the fleece pad on the bottom and that there's an enclosed side for some privacy. The only issue I have is that the square part of the frame (for stability) is in the end flaps as opposed to the body of the carrier. I know this is to make it collapsible but it lessens the stability since it's not attached to the cross bars. The carrier feels a bit floppy even when everything is zipped up. If I didn't have the other carrier to compare it to, I wouldn't have noticed this difference. BUT, my senior cat LOVES it - he's napping in it as we speak so at the end of the day, if the cat likes it, so do I! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I got this product for an adult cat, so that she has a carrier for trips to the vet or emergencies. It fits a full grown cat well. She really likes the soft insert on the bottom, and is comfortable hanging out inside the carrier. I have not used it for a trip yet but am looking forward to it! I did try carrying her around the house in it, and found that the shoulder strap balanced the carrier against my hip really well without her bumping around and was actually easier to use than the handles with a full grown cat. Pros: -This carrier has lots of ventilation with mesh on the top and two sides, two side pockets for any supplies you may need, and a collar clip for particularly frisky pets. -The soft faux fleece on the bottom is a winner with my kitty. -It has two carrying methods: an adjustable shoulder strap, and two handles that snap together for carrying in one hand. -The shoulder strap has an adjustable length and can be removed from the carrier if you do not want to use it. -It is sturdy and the grey color is attractive and neutral. -It has reflective strips on the side in case you are in a situation where you need to be seen in the dark (?) -It is collapsable- just unzip both ends, fold those first, and then collapse the whole thing. You might need some kind of strap to keep it collapsed unless you are stuffing it in a suitcase. -The carrier has side and top loading options. -This is a larger size carrier with a little extra room, which is great for pets that are a bit larger or just to give them a bit of extra space. -The carrier says it is airline approved, but check the approved measurements for a personal item for the airline you are flying on. Cons: -This carrier had a very strong chemical odor when it arrived and had to be aired outside in the sun. Fortunately, the chemical smell dissipated quickly. It would probably handle being sprayed with a cleaner and hosed down, though I did not try this. The listing says to use cool water to wipe it down and not to dry it in direct sun; however, it got rained on a bit and dried out in the sun and it is fine. -The larger size might not be what some people want, so check the measurements before you buy. ... show more

Claiming up to a 20lb pet is a bit generous -- my 15lb cat fit inside, but it's a bit too snug for any significant usage. Otherwise, it's pretty well made and I would expect it to last a good while. It's also reasonably good looking as well, though I could have done without the reflective stripe on the side. ... show more
