A little stiff at first from the sticky grease it comes shipped in for rust protection. Spraying the innards with a little lubricant, open and close, repeat a couple times and it’s smooth!

    • Not super impressed...
I spent some time looking for a decent vise to purchase and came up with this one.. I wasn't expecting much when I ordered it, but when it got here I wasn't impressed with my purchase. The vise was absolutely covered in oil, seriously this thing was more greasy than a griddle at mcdonalds after a whole day of flipping burgers. Next, the plate that shows the angle the vise is at is crooked and not put on straight at all... Plus, there are markings on the label where the rivets should go to hold it on, but whoever installed it ignored those and just sent them straight through the numbers on the label willy-nilly... The paint job definitely leaves something to be desired as well.. imperfections, chips, and just overall not that great. The dry rag I used to clean all the grease off ended up being kind of blue as well, because the paint was rubbing off on the rag... I mean, it's a tool and of course will eventually get worn, but I wasn't expecting this kind of quality from a brand new product... Also, the shaft has pits and imperfections all over it, it's more rough than smooth. Overall though, it is a tool and so far it seems like it will fulfill it's role as a vise sufficiently. Time will tell if it actually holds up to it's job, but I'll update this review if/when it breaks. ... show more
