  • Worked fine for me
Acts just like a regular controller pak for me. I was prepared for the weird rumble pak thing some folks described. Not really sure what to do if you get that. One thing you can try is, for any game that actually uses a controller pak, you can hold down the START button when you power on the console to get a controller pak management menu. Maybe you can use that menu to erase anything that's already on it and then see if it's fixed. I got a DexDrive that said this was not properly formatted. But it also said my old PERFORMANCE brand 4-slot "Memory Card Plus" from 20 years ago was not properly formatted (that card has 4 banks of memory that you can select with a physical switch. All four banks showed up as not formatted properly so I suspect the DexDrive). Once I allowed it to format the TOMEE pak, I could go back and save things to it and read them back on the DexDrive just fine. But to be clear, the N64 had no issues with the TOMEE pak before OR after letting a DexDrive format it first (though I wish I had known before saving a lot of Mystical Ninja progress to my new TOMEE pak that I had to sacrifice in the format). ... show more

  • Great Find!
I was super skeptical these memory cards would work. But these were cheap and I figured "Why not?" All of my progress in Rush 2 has saved and I'm in the middle of a circuit with no issues. I would highly recommend at this point in time. As long as they last, which only time will tell, I am very satisfied! One other customer, Josh the Tinkerer, is saying it doesn't fit but in his picture you can see he's comparing a "Jumper Pack" which goes inside the actual N64, to the "Memory Pack" which goes inside the back of the controller where a rumble pack would also go in order to save data for games where the cartridge doesn't save automatically (almost all 1st party games made by Nintendo save on the game, this is for 3rd party games like ones made by Midway (Rush 2, NFL Blitz 2001) which I can confirm both work with this product). If you have a Nintendo game like Ocarina of Time or Mario Kart, the data is saved on the game cartridge. If yours isn't, this won't won't because the battery in your game cartridge is dead and that's the problem. ... show more

  • Works great
Not sure why people are saying this thing doesn't work. It absolutely does. Pops in easy, didn't even need to format it in a game. Plug and play. You have to understand only certain games support it(Mystical Ninja Goemon, Mario Kart, etc). If your Ocarina of Time or something isn't saving, thats a problem with your game cartridge not this memory card, that game does not support the memory card. ... show more

  • Works just like the original Memory Pak.
This memory pak fits neatly into the controller, like an OEM pak. I've tested it with two games, HydroThunder and Off-Road Challenge, and it's worked exactly as described. Couldn't be happier with it. I've seen some reviews that say it doesn't fit in the console, it's important to note that THIS IS NOT A JUMPER PAK. It's intended to provide save data for games without onboard memory, not boost your console's processing power. ... show more

  • Works great, even with a repro controller.
Needed this to save games that use the controller pak. I have tested it on the OEM controller and the after market reproduction controller and both work fine. I lost on set of files early on in its use and was worried but have not had that happen again for last few months. Glad to have this.

  • Great, cheap memory pak for the n64!
I was able to play thru an entire game of Mystical Ninja with no issues saving over a week's time. I put down the n64 for a few weeks and the data was still on the pak. Some other reviews mentioned corrupted data, but that seems to only be the case when creating an initial save file. Once data for that game exists on the pak, I had no other issues with games like Quest64 or Bomberman64. If my data gets deleted or corrupted I'll update the review but so far no problems. ... show more

  • Works great right out of the box
I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews, but I have had zero issues with the card that I received. It was brand new, matching the product description and pictures listed. It also worked out of the box. Not much else to say, really. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, and at a terrific price point. ... show more

  • Worked just fine after a moment of fidgeting.
I recently bought an Everdrive for my old, dusty Nintendo 64 and realized that the only memory card I had was old, corrupted, and unusable so I went to Amazon for an inexpensive controller pak replacement. This is it. This memory card worked just fine. Out of the package I popped it into my oem N64 controller, and after fidgetting around with Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey for about 30 seconds, this memory card created a save file for Gretzky and worked just fine for controller pak games after that. ... show more
