  • Great eraser for use with colored pencils. Erases a directed fine line
If you use colored pencils, it seems that in the details you end up with a fine line or two not where you want them. In my case it is the eyebrows, lashes & hair that frequently need to be "groomed" to remove the one that went too long or not in the right space. This little eraser is a life saver. You can direct it at the spot & not worry about erasing things around the area that you wish to leave intact. It is also excellent for going back & creating strands in the hair. You don't want a color block for hair, you want to be able to see strands to make it appear realistic. With this you can run it on the edge from root to tip erasing a fine line directed where you need it. It will remove the top layer only with light pressure so you end up with layers underneath that are a different color showing through. While not as often as portraits, I also like mandelas. How frustrating with the intricate designs to accidentally edge over the line! With this eraser it is a snap to clean up marks outside where you intended. I thought when I first purchased the round one, that I would being going through the eraser super quick and would need refills. Much to my surprise almost a year later I am just now needing to replace the eraser inside. As you are removing "details" it just doesn't take up much of the eraser. Occasionally with a vivid color, the end of the eraser will hold the color and if you don't work it off or snip it off, the color will transfer to the next thing you color. So take care that you have just eraser and not pigment on the end. I ended up purchasing the square and round ones and am so glad I did. I use them all the time and hate to think how much time would be wasted but for this little Tombow eraser. As a side note, It does a great job with all the colored pencils whether oil or wax based ... show more

  • Only good for artists. Okay for students but not great.
I tried to like this (Mono Zero) eraser. Iv had it a few years so it will last, but it doesn't erase completely. I can see how it could be good for artists who want to fade or whatever but for an engineer, or any student for that matter, it doesn't erase completely unless use more pressure than normal and extra strokes. Even then, you can see faint lines. Faber Castell's Dust-free (green) erasers are excellent and completely remove all pencil lines even when using 2B and 3B lead and is what I compare all my erasers to now days. I've heard Staedtler's Refillable Triangular eraser works well but I haven't used one yet. I will not be purchasing this eraser again though. ... show more

  • Perfect for erasing with precision in tight places
This is exactly what I needed. I am a watercolorist, and I do a line drawing with a regular pencil before painting. Once I get my colors down, I usually erase the pencil lines, and in the past I was using my kneaded eraser. This was fine for most of my work, but since I sometimes paint very detailed work, it was difficult to erase in very small areas. With this Tombow eraser, it is easy to zero in on the exact spot I need. It is not as gentle as a kneaded eraser, but with a light touch, it erases perfectly without any damage at all to my paper. I will definitely keep this in my supply box! ... show more

  • Sweet!! Clean edge always, lifts hi-lites, erases well 8B-10H
I did a test with both mono zero erasers, this rectangular one and the smaller round too on a Scribble of dark 8B, 6B, middle toned 4B, 2B of wet HB Faber Castelle aquarelle graphite) pencils and it erased well with one swipe. It’s harder to erase soft leaded (higher number is darker with the letter B like 8B, 6B) pencils because they’re darker softer and once wet with water and spread around, dried they’re even harder to erase But it worked! These rectangle ones are a about twice the size of the smaller round ones but it like having the straight edge for thinning lines. For example if you’re drawing teeth with a fat line of a revalue pencil, using a Lighter lead (darkest to lightest: HB, F, 2H-10H ) and then thinning the line with this eraser, it doesn’t look so jack o lantern like with a thinner 0.3mm width or a thinner line with this eraser. You cam also lift out highlights. Clicks away like a mech pencil and looks sleek on black. The round is silver so it’s easy to grab the right one at a quick glance. 5 stars ... show more

  • Best option on this site
Second one of these I purchased. They are well made, they erase neatly and feel sturdy and durable yet are very light and thin. This replace my old Tuff Stick that is now 24 dollars on amazon. I would prefer the Tuff Stick over this i think simply based on price, and the fact that the refills for this are much smaller than the stick. That being said this product is great and looks much nicer than the others. I do however like the round tip one i own more than the square one, but not sure why. Pros. Best quality eraser pen out there Strong materials Looks great Cons Pricier than others ... show more

  • Excellent!
I’m just getting back into sketching again. While searching for good art erasers I stumbled upon this. It’s awesome! It comes with one eraser in the pen, and a little vial with 2 refill erasers. It’s excellent for erasing small areas, especially inside corners or really small areas. It’s also good to use to highlight areas you decide need to be lighter at the end for a touch up. I just ordered the round ones now! ... show more

  • Precision of use
Erasing precisely in tight spots or close to edges is an obvious benefit but using it like a white pencil/pen/paint brush is really beneficial. Being able to create thin white highlights in the middle of dark pencil drawings without adding layers or different mediums is great. Erases thoroughly and with minimal dust. Love these. Got the rectangle and the thin round. Love them both but the thin round is more unique and versatile. ... show more

  • Brilliant tool!
I freaking love this thing. Seriously. The material is not too soft, so it doesn't smoosh around as you're erasing, it erases cleanly and completely. The quality is at *least* as good as a Staedtler or MagicRub. I usually use a 3H Staedtler pencil, but I've erased up to 2B with it and it's exactly the same. I bought the rectangle shape, and it's the perfect size and shape for my needs. I can swipe out areas that are less than an eighth of an inch (maybe 3mm) and with the edge I can pop out lines that are about a millimeter! I pretty much can't live without this thing now. I love it that much. ... show more
