Description

Based on widely popular AT-X 11-20 F2.8 PRO DX model atx-i 11-20mm F2.8 CF was redesigned and optimized for contemporary APS-C sensor DSLR cameras in terms of improved specifications andrenovated design with still photographers and video content creators’ demands in mind. Focal length 11-20mm that covers equivalent angle of wide prime 18mm, 21mm, 24mm, 28mm lenses makes this lens attractive to be chosen after standard zoom lens or initially possessed wide angle zoom kit lens. A constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 throughout the entire zoom range is realized to achieve great results in low light conditions, for depth of field control and easy manual shooting, while maintaining a reasonable size and weight. To achieve an exceptional optical performance required for ultra wide angle zoom lens 3 aspherical glass elements and 3 Super-Low Dispersion glass elements were used in order to minimize distortion, manage spherical aberration and astigmatism while achieving excellent edge-to edge resolution and high contrast through the entire image. Anti-reflective multi-layer coating improves light transmission and minimizes reflections while newly applied water-repellent coating makes wiping and cleaning the surface of the front glass element easier. • After Trying Two Copies, I Just Couldn't Get it to Focus on My Body
I do believe that this lens provides the most image quality bang for the buck in its class and I really wanted it to work on my body. The build is fantastic, the zoom and focus rings feel nice and smooth, and focusing manually with this lens is actually kind of nice. And, to be honest, I really even don't mind the "One-touch Focus Clutch Mechanism" (I don't often switch between auto focus and manual focus on-the-fly). However, I gave up after after trying two copies because I just couldn't get it to focus through the lens on my Nikon D7500. Keep in mind that my D7500 works just fine with my Nikon lenses and my Sigma 17-50 f2.8. In fact none of my lenses even require any focus fine tune on my D7500 body (which is running the latest firmware). After significant testing, I determined that my copy of the Tokina 11-20 required no focus fine tune (zero) at 20 mm, but required a focus fine tune of +18 at 11 mm! Given such a significant difference in fine tune between both ends of the lens, there's just no way to find a fine tune compromise value that will yield satisfactory focus results across the zoom range. Since I know that there are D7500 users who are not having problems with this lens, there must be some sort of QC issue over at Tokina. My suggestion to Tokina is that they need to take a close look at this issue because they are losing customers like myself who really do want to buy this lens, who really want it to work, but who can't justify throwing $400 or $500 at a copy of this lens when they can't get the lens' AF to work on their camera. My suggestion to those buying the lens is to carefully test the AF at both ends of the zoom range before the return period ends. I do believe this lens has the potential to produce excellent image quality, but it's got a few issues... ... show more
