Straps hold him in place nicely. It is sturdy in a regular kitchen chair. I did not try it on a bar stool yet. The only thing to keep in mind is that the back is not as high as other booster seats so it might not be great for a child who can’t sit without back support for too long. I love how easy this is to clean! My toddler can spill anything and I’m able to wipe it up no issues or stains. It sits her high enough that she is able to be at the table while this seat is strapped to the dining room chair, allowing her to be a part of family meals. Only down side to this is that the strap system slides all over the chair so we need to adjust it after meals to make sure the seat is in the middle and not too far forward or backward on the dining chair. ... show more

We had a booster seat from the same brand previously but the seat was glued onto the base, obviously a nightmare to clean. This is functionally the exact same seat but the cushion just pops out. A simple change that has made all the difference.

We ordered three of these so that our grandkids (ages 2-3) could sit at the big table with the grownups. They can be strapped in, so they can't accidentally fall out (or escape). This is especially important for us, since ours is a counter height table. The booster is adaptable, so we can use it even after the kids grow a little.
