  • Great performance from a budget mechanical keyboard
Style: Red Switch
The Kemove/TMKB T84SE seems to focus its design on the items that result in a satisfying typing experience (keycaps, switches, solid construction) while still keeping the cost at a minimum by omitting things like RGB lighting. The case is good and solid despite the all-plastic construction. While this keyboard doesn't have full RGB lighting or wireless connectivity, it includes good-feeling, shine-through Cherry profile (ABS) keycaps paired with solid-performing mechanical switches. The secondary key functions (media controls, email, calculator & lighting tools) are clearly marked, and the keycaps are reasonably thick (albeit on the thinner side). The T84SE features anti-skid pads and flip-out feet providing two added typing angles. The plate mounted stabilizers are factory lubed and there's dampening foam added in the slots beneath the space bar. This 75% layout provides a useful layout with a smaller overall footprint, making it a great portable keyboard to use in an office. The T84SE also has a quiet sound profile, making it office friendly. It even comes with a nice braided USB cable. You get all these features for the sales price of a typical membrane-switch keyboard (that doesn't feel anywhere close to this). This keyboard is worth buying just to have as a backup or to take with you if you need to travel. If you're new to mechanical keyboards and want to simply try one out or experiment with some modifications of your own, this is a great way to test the water without breaking the bank. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Blue and white work well together here
Style: Red Switch
The media could not be loaded. Solid feel, good key placement. Lighting was smooth and easily visible. I don’t normally like animated light patterns, but I found myself using the one of the calm patterns as the pulse was actually quite pleasant. The key sound is fairly quiet for a mechanical, although by no means noiseless- if you like a clear activation point you may want to try other switch options. This wasn’t super clacky, but more of a “thunky” sound, but how you like the sound is going to be an ear of the beholder, but the “thunk” will either be satisfying or terrible. ... show more

  • A good typing experience for a fair price.
Style: Red Switch
I've been using this TMKB keyboard for several days now, and I have to say, for the price, it's been a really nice keyboard to type on. I have plenty of options to choose from and several keyboards with a similar actuation, but there's something about this one that works well for me. Oftentimes, I find the red switch a bit too sensitive, leading to too many mistakes. However, that's not as much the case here. Don't get me wrong—I still make plenty of mistakes—but my speed and accuracy don't feel as hampered by the layout or switches of this board. The keys also have good spacing, and everything feels nice and sturdy. Nothing about this keyboard feels particularly cheap, despite the affordable price point. While it doesn't have many extra bells or whistles, I think that at under $30, it's a pretty solid value. That said, it's not entirely perfect. For some reason, despite being well-labeled, I really don't like the location of the function keys. This is personal, and I honestly can't even explain why; they just don't make sense in my mind, I guess. Thankfully, they are reprogrammable via software, but frankly, I'm more of a plug-and-play kind of guy. Another subjective issue for me is the sound. As much as I enjoy the feel of this board, I find the "clacky" feedback obnoxiously loud and grating after a while. This doesn't really bother me when using it for gaming or browsing the web, but for extended typing, I can't stand it. If I had to sit next to someone using this keyboard in an office setting, I would not be a friendly neighbor. Despite feeling that the value of this keyboard is fair as it is, I do think there would've been room to include a cheap gasket. All in all, I genuinely think this is worth a buy for someone who wants a compact keyboard with just enough customization and nothing extra, all for a reasonable price—bonus if loud and clacky is your jam. I should also mention that the ice-blue backlighting is easy on the eyes, and the keycaps have excellent backlight visibility. The function icons, however, do get lost in dimly lit rooms. A minor quibble, though, and nothing to be deterred by. If you're interested in this particular keyboard, it's easy to recommend. If you can nab it on sale, I'd absolutely buy it with confidence. ... show more

  • Excellent mini-keyboard
Style: Red Switch
The one I got has linear red switches in it, and while I generally prefer tactile (like brown), this in no way hurt how this keyboard felt. The casing, while plastic, is heavy duty and doesn't seem to feel like it might warp at all - I tried twisting it a bit just to see. The backlighting has several pretty neat patterns to choose- though it's only one color (a light blue), as advertised, and I miss the multicolor ones. They don't advertise it as hot-swappable and at this time I haven't taken it apart to find out if it actually is or not. I will say that most small-form keyboards I've seen don't have the full-sized direction keys, which is a real bonus, along with a legit printscreen key you don't have to press Function for. I don't use it CONSTANTLY but I use it just enough that remembering this is a chord on some boards can throw me off. ... show more

  • Nice compact keyboard for small spaces
Style: Red Switch
I ordered this keyboard to use in my home office. I have converted a closet into my office, so the space is very tiny. The desk is only about 24 inches wide, so a small keyboard is what I need. Since i do not touch type, I also need an illuminated keyboard with keys that pass light so I can see the letters in the dark. This keyboard meets my needs quite well. It is very compact, yet unlike some other compact keyboards, it has full functionality. It has fully functional directional keys and functions I use a lot such as print screen (PrtSc). The key travel and feel are very good for office use. The backlighting is adjustable for brightness and pattern, but not for color. The backlighting works very well to show me the keys in the dark, although I do wish I could change the color to red instead of blue, since red does not diminish your night vision as blue light does. But this keyboard was clearly described as being blue, so I will not fault them for it. Five stars. ... show more
