I bought this kit to replace leaking seals on my chrome brass version of the Sure Shot Sprayer. So, the first thing to note is that the outside dimensions of the fittings in this kit is metric, whereas the original is SAE. They still screw into the body of the sprayer fine, but you will need either an adjustable wrench or a set of metric to install and service these parts. The second and most important issue, is that the hole for the cotter pin that holds the trigger is about a 1/16th of an inch or about 1-2mm shorter than the original. Everything will install, but this shorter dimension will cause the front top edge of the trigger to hit the packing gland and not allow the valve to fully close. I had to grind said 1-2 mm or 1/16th of an inch off of the top front corner of the trigger to allow it to fully close. Another thing that exacerbated the situation is the new teflon washer on the front fitting is thicker than the original copper washer which placed the sealing surface of the valve even further away. So in the end, it does work fine after those minor adjustments. Just be prepared to do some minor fitting and use water to test it out the first time so you aren't spraying solvent all over the place while you are trying to find a wrench or pick to relieve the air pressure because the valve won't close. ... show more

Several years ago work supplied us all with expensive "Sure Shot" sprayers which held up - until I dropped mine one too many times and broke the valve where you add air. I bought this kit as an inexpensive gamble to fix my unit with, and it fits perfectly. Shortly after, someone borrowed mine and returned it with the spraying tip bent up and spraying poorly. Of course they had NO IDEA how that happened but whatever. Luckily, I had the rest of this rebuild kit of which I used to fix that as well! It fit perfectly and to be honest (after removing the restricter) I think this sprays better than the Sure Shot sprayer did! Definitely a good buy to fix your Sure-Shot (or the cheaper versions) without spending a lot of dough! ... show more
