  • What a time saver. Does the work of three tools.
Whoever dreamed up this device, I tip my hat too. It is super lightweight. And can do things that no other tool can do. I’m impressed. It is very noisy. But I just wear ear protection. Every time I use it, I’m very careful. You don’t wanna get your fingers in the way of this beast. Hard to get a straight cut. But it does the job. Fast! ... show more

  • Light weight great tool
Great tool to have for cutting or sanding in tight spaces. It has a speed or vibrating control which helps a lot. It is maneuverable and the fittings are universal with most all brands. I use it for art work and sanding in tight spots.

  • Awesome until it quit working. But fixed
I was impressed when I first used it. It was comparable to the Milwaukee DeWalt that my neighbor has. And I’ve used. Got for a great price compared to the others. but quit working on me cutting some drywall today and it’s only the 4th time I’ve used. Would have been 5 stars other wise. Updated review: I’m kind of handy so I took the unit apart myself, found one of the rubber isolators had came out of place and got sucked into the motor stalling the motor. I was able to pull the rubber isolator out of the motor and put it all back together. Unit now works as designed just like the day. I took it out of the box so I updated my review to five stars because it is a very good product. Also, Customer Service had contacted me after they saw my review and wanted to take care of it anyway they could which I really appreciate. I would still buy another one of these, even if I had to replace it because of the fast response from the manufacturer even months after I purchased it. ... show more

  • I blame the blades
Admittedly, I got the cheap model. I don't anticipate using it a lot. I wish I'd spent a little more and gotten the model with the lever blade release. This one uses an allen screw you have to take all the way out and keep track of the allen wrench. I'd have expected a holder. Some blades are open on the mounting side, so you only have to loosen it, but still, it's a pain to have to find the wrench, loosen/remove screw and replace, often having to tighten up after a minute or two. I hoped to use it cut of screw heads on decking, but it didn't make a dent in them. I blame the blades. I tried to cut off a few strays that were left behind and still didn't make a dent. Had to use sawzall instead. But, I blame the blades for that. The multitool seemed to work okay and I did put a couple pretty good day's work in with it. Big Ryobi fan and fortunately had a number of batteries from other devices. ... show more

  • Replacement for worn out multi tool
I wore out my first RYOBI multi tool and then bought this to replace it. It works great! Also a better price than my local big box store.

  • Handy as a pocket on a shirt
Added this "funny saw" tool to my Ryobi collection over a year ago and it quickly became indispensable for a multitude of tasks. Until one day, all of a sudden, it stopped! Had to dig in my tool box for half a dozen other tools to continue the job. I replaced it right away. When the new one came in, I took the broken one apart, as any good engineer would do. It disassembles easily with a torx driver, then open as a clam shell. The motor is shock/vibration mounted in the outer housing with 6 rubber pads. One of those pads had come loose and found its way into the motor housing and jammed the rotor. It came out with some difficulty, but without damage to the motor. Once removed, the motor and tool again worked fine. As I reassembled the tool, I glued the vibration pads to the housing. Now I have a funny saw for both hands! As a side note, that was the only one of my 8 Ryobi hand tools to ever have a problem, most of which are many years old. ... show more

  • Tool doesn't work
I bought this Ryobi multi tool on Amazon- tool only. And it doesn't work. I have a lot of Ryobi batteries. The port the battery slides into reads 'use only battery packs listed or P197'. That is the battery I used. While not my favorite brand of tools, I have always found Ryobi tools solid, durable and affordable. When I needed a multi tool, finding a good, tool only deal was a no brainer. I have 4 Ryobi batteries in total. The product arrived at my work site in good shape. The packaging was undisturbed and there were no signs of damage. The light on the head of the tool lights up when the trigger is depressed, but no spinning. I have charged all of my Ryobi batteries to full, and I have tried each and every one on this brand new, out of the box tool. And it simply doesn't work. The return process is also kind of bogus. I listed my reason for return, and I was referred to the Ryobi support page. Ryobi has essentially shipped me a box with a rock in it and now I am burdened with proving it doesn't work. If it worked, I would be done with the project I bought it for and not wasting my time complaining about it in a review. ... show more
