The item does what it says as far as raising the object...but when you try to lower the object that was raised, it drops rapidly possibly damaging the object.

I used these mounted on a wood frame that moved around on small polypropylene wheeled dollies to lift and set tempered glass panels into mounting spigots in a deck railing system. These little jacks gave me fingertip control over glass panes weighing up to three hundred pounds while I lowered them into their mounts and shimmed them up.
