There are times when we want to travel light, carry the bare minimum, hit the road and go. What if you could leave your phone behind and stay connected? Simplify your active life and become truly mobile. Introducing Timex IRONMAN ONE GPS+. Your run, your tunes, your messaging, without your phone. No Phone Required Yes, we’re serious. This is not another smartwatch that shows messages when in proximity to your mobile phone. You can actually receive messages and send replies (customized or pre- set—it’s your choice) miles away from your phone, because the technology is built into the watch itself. Incoming message about a change in dinner plans—no problem, you can see that. Maybe you don’t like the restaurant choice—no problem, you can send a message back. And if you’re in a more serious situation, Timex IRONMAN ONE GPS+ has built in SOS messages that can be sent to pre-designated contacts, along with a map that shows your location. And for those times when you want to be followed—whether it’s for your spouse’s peace of mind during your long run, or when you have fans cheering you on during a race—we have Find Me and Live Tracking features. All of this is possible with 1-year AT&T wireless data service included. If you want to renew your plan after a year, simply add the device to your plan or create a new plan with AT&T. If you don’t, you’ll still have a feature- packed fitness watch with GPS and a music player built-in. Tunes Music makes everything better, which is why we built it right into the watch. It’s as easy as drag and drop, and you can add around 1000 songs (4 GB) to your Timex IRONMAN ONE GPS+ watch, and then wirelessly connect it to any Bluetooth headset. If you always workout to music, you can choose to have your tunes kick in automatically whenever you start a run. If you want to listen to music on the beach without getting your phone sandy, wirelessly connect your watch to Bluetooth speakers and enjoy. Even more reasons to leave your phone at home, and get everything you need with the Timex IRONMAN ONE GPS+. More Than Just Good Looks The Timex IRONMAN ONE GPS+ is the first watch to feature a Qualcomm Mirosol display. The display is always on—so you don’t have to wake it up to get the time—and the vibrant colors become even stronger in sunlight making it ideal (?) for outdoor use. The touchscreen is water and sweat-resistant, so you can swipe through workouts with ease, and it works with gloves too, for those months when there is a chill in the air. The durable and lightweight watch design is comfortable on the wrist, and was constructed to be 50-meter water resistant to survive rain and swims. Built for Working Out Last but certainly not least, the Timex IRONMAN ONE GPS+ watch is a serious performance tool. Built-in Instafix GPS will find satellites incredibly fast and lock into a GPS signal to provide real-time distance and pace on your wrist. If you want to do intervals—whether a run/walk routine or a speed workout—you can get alerts based on time or distance, and customize the routine and labels. You can connect the watch to a Bluetooth Smart heart rate monitor and foot pod sensors to track effort and cadence, and audible/vibrating pace and heart rate alerts can help monitor your progress during a workout. And for those runs that show the most progress, ONE GPS+ will alert you to personal records. When you’re done with your workouts, you can wirelessly upload to leading fitness sites (such as Strava, MapMyFitness and Runkeeper) and even post to social media using the built-in mobile connection. Fitness App Compatibility – upload your data wirelessly to your favorite fitness apps. Timex's U.S. headquarters are located in Middlebury Connecticut and it has substantial operations in China, the Philippines and India and full scale sales companies in Canada, the UK, France and Mexico. The company began in 1854 as Waterbury Clock in Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley, known during the nineteenth century as the "Switzerland of America." Sister company Waterbury Watch manufactured the first inexpensive mechanical pocket watch in 1880. During World War I, Waterbury began making wristwatches, which had only just become popular, and in 1933 it made history by creating the first Mickey Mouse clock under license from Walt Disney, with Mickey's hands pointing the time.During World War II, Waterbury renamed itself U.S. Time Company. In 1950 the company introduced a wristwatch called the Timex. Over the next three decades, Timex was sold through a series of advertisements which emphasized its durability by putting the watch through "torture tests," such as falling over the Grand Coulee Dam or being strapped to the propeller of an outboard motor, with the slogan "It takes a licking and keeps on ticking." With the help of former Olympic broadcaster, spokesman John Cameron Swayze, sales took off. The company later became Timex Corporation, then Timex Group and, to date, has sold over one billion watches. The company has remained very competitive and the Timex brand continues its dominance through present day. Its primary market remains the United States and Canada, although the Timex brand is sold worldwide due to its ability to capitalize on its strong brand image and reputation for quality. One of the most successful and important features available on many Timex watches is the Indiglo backlight system. Indiglo is a brand name of Indiglo Corporation, solely owned by Timex for licensing purposes. Timex electroluminescent lamps, branded Indiglo, were introduced in 1992 in the Ironman watch line. They were an immediate success. The Indiglo lamp uniformly lights the surface of the Timex’s watch dials in a manner that makes the dial read very easily in many different light settings. In some newer watches the Indiglo backlight only lights up the numbers, rather than the entire LCD display, which is achieved by means of a specialized film that inverts the LCD transmissivity.Today, Timex Group products are manufactured in the Far East and in Switzerland often based on technology that continues to be developed in the United States and in Germany. With a large and varied line of watches, Timex has the style for everyone. From the locker room to the board room, there is a great Timex style time-piece for you.

  • I can now run phone free!
Style: Without Heart Rate Monitor Color: Gray/Lime Green
Purchased the Timex One GPS+ a month ago on sale. I have used it almost daily since! and am very satisfied with my purchase. I wanted a watch that would allow me to run without my phone. I also needed a watch that could be seen in bright sun, this one can. I was able to download music easily from my mac/itunes account without problems with compatibility. I get approximately 4 hours per charge, while using music. Based on comparisons with friends using other GPS watches and phones, the timex is comparable in locating GPS service. The gps is accurate, I frequently run with friends using their phones and they have had greater disparities in tracked milage vs actual. I have been able to upload all my stats to the runkeeper app seamlessly. I found the best way for me to use the watch was in workout mode. The angel tracking feature allows family and friends to track my progress. I have used the email (messaging) feature to find family at post run pick up locations. While not a text message, turning on notifications/alerts for VIP email addresses on iphone works well. The watch gives me the ability to communicate without carrying my phone. After the free first year, I think it is a 'peace of mind' feature I'd pay an additional $40 annually for. I haven't had the problem of the watch rebooting during my run, I have installed all updates when available. The one software improvement I wish the watch would include is either storing the stats or sending the stats of the current workout before the power runs out mid run. Overall, at the sale price the Timex One GPS+ has significantly more useful features than other watches at this price point. ... show more

  • Once I had it - I realized I really didn't want it.
Style: Without Heart Rate Monitor Color: Gray/Lime Green
Once I had this (bought as a gold box / amazon day deal for $149.99) - I reread the reviews and realized I didn't need it. Although it has everything I want in a wrist device, the ATT service payment after a year was the deal breaker. After one year and then I'd have to pay monthly connectivity fee for the main feature I wanted, that and the (tested) 4 hour battery life - while using the GPS and listening to music, made me realize that I'd most likely be carrying my phone anyway... so why bother. PLEASE NOTE - I never activated this device, never used the device, never took it out of the box! This review is only in regards to overcoming an impulse purchase, and realizing that I just didn't need it. --> Now buying directly from Timex will get you three year ATT service (which makes the device tempting again), because how long do you use a device like this before trading for newer better? ... show more

  • Its OK - I wish Motorola would bring back the Motoactv
Style: Without Heart Rate Monitor Color: Gray/Lime Green
To start I got a MOTACTV GPS watch back in 2012, and that discontinued watch still outperformes this Ironman One. Dislikes: Touchscreen is frigidity, no audio coaching through headset, only run option cant track laps in a pool or a bike ride, no quick play or pause for music, no Ant+ tech, no dedicated site to track workouts - this means for additional options you have to pay monthly fees to an App site. Likes: Connects to GPS quickly and seems to be accurate, allows upload to 3 different sites. Update: The web site is pretty frustrating drop connected sites - cant review anything on the main website and when upload fails, you can not just sync the watch to get your sites updated. I spend way to much time trying to get things to connect and load properly to Map my fitness. Overall the watch is still pretty good but the complete package is little to be desired. When my subscription is up I will be testing something new and most likely a different company in comparison the older Motoactv out performed this watch and website. I wish they never discontinued. ... show more

  • Don't get blown away by this product.
Style: Without Heart Rate Monitor Color: Gray/Lime Green
This has a lot of features that are very useful if you're into Bluetooth connectivity. It's pretty flawless with it's GPS and it's uploading. It also charges super quick. I really like it over my GARMIN products in the area of uploading and charging. However They have three major downfalls. The downfalls: Battery life is not that great. My 920XT lasts a lot longer than this. Lasts a day and half tops if you get two runs in and keep it on your wrist. It was put together cheaply. I have had it less than a year with under 100 runs on it and it's already starting to fall apart. The rubber outside cover is starting to come off. See picture. Super dissatisfied with this. A lot of features. Mediocre in a lot of them. Don't expect the messaging to blow you away. Unless Timex increases the battery life and puts it together better, don't expect me to sway away from Garmin watches. ... show more

  • Don't Buy! Great product, but discontinued serivce
Style: Without Heart Rate Monitor Color: Gray/Lime Green
Loved this watch at first. but as of today (Dec 14, 2016) they are discontinuing the GPS services, making this watch useless. It was one of the few watches that provided accurate gps tracking with the ability to upload directly to MapMyRun, AND have music storage. Garmin and other brands offer GPS but make you bring your phone along for music. I got this watch so that I could run and not have my phone with me, and track my runs and listen to music. Sadly very few watches do this, but this one did and did it well. I am trying out the Samsung Gear Fit 2 which offers these options as well. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY USED!!
Style: Without Heart Rate Monitor Color: Gray/Lime Green
DO NOT BUY USED!! Timex had made a watch that when associated with an account cannot be transferred as of this time to another account. The was confirmed by Timex when I called and was told by them to return it. They stated there techs were working on a solution but had no time frame on when a solution would be available. Watch is really bulky and about a half inch think. Good idea, very bad execution in viability. ... show more
