I have been buying this model watch for the past 20 years. I have tried other watches and keep coming back to this one as my preferred daily watch. It is easy to read at a glance in most lighting conditions and the indiglo backlight works well for the time in complete darkness (day/date is only viewable with an external light source). The band typically breaks after 3 years of hard use. I have gotten replacement bands but they are half the price of a new watch and battery of the watch only lasts me 5 years so I just replace the entire watch now when the band breaks. ... show more

This is a really nice and affordable watch. The indiglo feature is one of the easiest and best way ever devised to provide night time viewing, and it works well on this watch. Day AND date are nice, but you have to advance the hour hand around the 24hr cycle to change the day, which not the easiest. The bezel does not rotate, it's just there for looks. But the watch is solid, and should provide reliable time keeping you read for years. Don't go scuba diving with this thing but you can probably hang out in a pool or splash around in the waves. ... show more

I've purchased this watch twice in the last 20 years. Why? Because I love the watch, I love the look of it the weight of it the ease of setting it. The only thing that would make it better if it was self-winding without batteries

I was looking for an inexpensive watch that had a large analog dial, backlit/high contrast (could be read in the dark and in the daylight), had a mineral crystal and was water resistant. This watch fit the bill. I wear it everywhere: to bed, to work, to mow, to work on the car, literally everywhere. I still looks new. Ever had a watch that looks more expensive than it really is? This is one of them. It's an affordable, stylish watch, but don't let that fool you. Beautiful dial, an Indiglo feature that makes whole watch face glow, and a quality feel is what iI love from this unique looking watch.

I have been wearing Timex watches for more than 50 years. Remember John Cameron Swayze? This watch has gotten a lot of positive comments from friends. Nice "field watch" appearance and no one confuses me for a n astronaut with a wrist full of techno gadgets, bells, and whistle. I like that the day date window is easy to read at a gtolance. Like my other Timex watches, I expect this one will keep on ticking for a very long time. Still using original battery after 3+ years. ONLY concern is that the stem which is used to set day and date as well as time has become very sensitive. I have to be very carefull looking for the right pause point to change info in the D/D window. February is always a challenge. Probably doesn't help that I have chubby, shaky, 77 year old hands. And YES I would definately buy the Expedition Day/Date watch again! ... show more
