  • Time Empowerment
I found the book very informative and easy to read, I read it in one sitting. I quite liked the approach of looking at the time management from two very different perspectives, the perspective of a Struggler vs a Successful Person. It helps to see a clear difference in the habits and work styles and shows how to make a transition. This technique worked very well for me, as quite often when I would read a book or an article which describes what successful people do differently, my mind would think - sure, this is exactly what you do, you are good, no change is needed. The technique used in the book helps not only to see a difference and what makes a successful person successful but provides useful tips and gives you a plan on how to change the old habits. Excellent read, great tips on creating systems, working in blocks of time and understanding what change is needed and how to make it. ... show more

  • Complex Time Management Strategies Simplified
am a successful struggler! That's what I learned by reading Kris' book. Targeted for entrepreneurs, Kris takes complex time management and optimization strategies and helps you see them through the eyes of those business owners who are successful and those who struggle. The perfect summary of Kris' message can best be summed up by a quote from the book itself. "Time empowerment allows you to exercise conscious control over the amount of time you spend on specific activities, so that you have to clearly define your priorities and plan accordingly." I am a Lean accredited and certified project manager and I learned things from Kris. Her transparency and sense of humor is evident. Her 4-week plan is actionable, easy to implement and it is obvious if followed will yield results. For business owners who have never thought about prioritizing value-based activities, this is a quick to read guide on getting started. ... show more

  • Make time management your friend.
I just finished reading Kris Ward’s book, and I can honestly say it is one of the best books on the subject of time management I have ever read. I appreciated the fact that she used her own experiences to highlight the essence of the material without the entire book turning into a how great I am story like many self-help books do. I am a retired Marine, and I wish I had this book when I was training my young Marines on how to use their time efficiently. I am fully retired now, but I have already started to use Kris’s methods to manage my time for the projects I want to take on. I especially like and use her training on the use of the google calendar. So, retired or neck deep in work, if you want to get more done with greater efficiency I recommend you get and read Kris’s book. You will not be disappointed. ... show more

  • Well-organized, but nothing new here.
This very short book compares “strugglers” with “successful people.” Full of absolute statements, the author gives very little science or evidence for these statements besides anecdotal evidence about the many mistakes she has made over the years in her own business. The majority of her key concepts can be found in other, better productivity books in more depth. ... show more

  • A must read for entrepreneurs!
I have to say this is the best book I’ve read on time management and productivity. The author truly gets what it’s like to struggle and provides simple and quick tools you can implement immediately. In one week since reading Win the Hour Win the Day, I have let go of my to-do list (I still can’t believe this!) with her helpful suggestions, have all of my appointments, projects, and personal tasks in one place, and I’m able to track and measure my productivity accurately. As an entrepreneur, I really feel this book has had an incredible impact on my business and my life. This is a must-read! ... show more

  • Definitely worth reading MORE THAN ONCE.
I have tried to read every time management book I could get my hands on. It has always been something that I struggled with but I had never considered it to be a reason why I was failing in most if not all of my endeavors...struggling...yes...failing...no. I always just assumed I wasn't trying hard enough. I have tried so many different tips and trick and hacks and "habits" and had actually given up and was giving up on starting my business when I stumbled on this book. It was a very amazing and shocking read for me. As I read the book I saw so clearly why I was failing. Not only that but ways that I could change it that didn't include changing everything about my life. It also didn't involve me spending all of my time cataloging time instead of working. Definitely worth reading MORE THAN ONCE. I hope that this book gives you not only the steps to take better control but also the hope and knowledge that it can be different. You can be different and that your next venture can be a success because you did it better than before with less blood, sweat, and tears. I wish you all luck and happy reading. ... show more

This is overall a good book. There aren't a lot new ideas (of course, new is subjective). But it does a good job reiterating almost all the building blocks for high productivity like using calendar for scheduling, time blocking, focus rather than multi-tasking, schedule time for exercise, etc. The author's experience helps illustrate the point, too. PS: there is a typo in the title though. Effecient -> Efficient ... show more
