  • Great gift for dad
Size: 10 Color: Rust
I bought these boots for my partner who needed new work boots. I gave them to him for Father's Day and he LOVED IT. These boots are comfortable and durable. They are true to size as well. Highly recommend.

  • OK boot for the money
Size: 11 Color: Rust
I think this boot is fine. The ones I ordered came with a smooth full grain leather, not like the tumbled leather in the picture. I got these on sale for $89 and for that I think they are a decent boot for kicking around in or working indoors. They are not heavy duty work boots. One complaint is that the leather is really thin. This could be good if you're looking for something breathable and light for summer, but they are not going to be durable. The toe box on mine has already deformed significantly in less than a year of wearing them once or twice a week. ... show more

  • Initial Review........Awesome Boots!
Size: 11.5 Color: Rust
I only received the boots a few days ago, so this is a preliminary review based on a couple full days of weighing them. Summary initial impression is "AWESOME". I wear 11D and the fit is perfect for me. I cannot tolerate tight boots. As a day gets long and your feet get warm, you need boots with a little room, but not too much. These fit my dogs very nicely, both in length and width. I will also note that the boots slide on and off very easily. The leather is thick, rich and super supple. The tanning is even and first rate. They are beautiful boots. The insole in high density molded foam, covered with a durable fabric. They are comfy, but I may eventually replace them with something more customized to my feet. That's just a personal preference, and not at all necessary. The soles are cushy and as such I would expect them to wear more quickly than something harder. Like tires, it is a trade off. If you want softer more comfortable soles, you're going to forfeit some longevity. I always opt to the side of comfort. I'd rather buy a new pair of boots in a year than have sore feet. I specifically chose a work boot that had eyelets all the way to the top. Some might prefer speed lace eyelets. I do not. I lace to the top and put knots in the ends of the laces. I then loosen up the laces, slide my feet in, tighten them up and tie them off. It takes less hassle and less time to tie. I will also note that the included laces are exactly what I like. They are durable nylon that slide easily through the eyelets and tie off easily. The color is perfect for the boots. I seriously considered buying a pair of Red Wing Heritage boots for $280. I am glad I opted for these. We'll see how they hold up, but even if they wear a little more quickly, I can buy nearly 4 pairs of these for the price of the Red Wings. ... show more

  • Pro, hard no. Weekend warrior at best.
Size: 10.5 Color: Rust
Graduated from custom cabinet maker to project manager and was looking for a quality, durable boot that was lighter than my steel toes but would still hold up to job site conditions. This boot was comfortable right out of the box. The leather was genuine and had a great feel and all stitching seemed like it was going to hold up to normal wear and tear. After a good application of conditioner, I was off and running. Overall I was happy with my purchase...for about a week. The leather seems to lose its dye with the smallest amount of moisture, to the point where numerous pairs of my thick wool socks are now permentanly stained an orangey-brown, not to mention my feet until a hard scrub. The insoles also immediately started to fall apart with the fabric top lining coming off within the first few days and once it became a nuisance had to be removed leading to the actual rubber/sponge insole to start to degrade. Although the above issues are problems that you should not have within the first week of any just sub $100 boots, the real issue was just noticed today, a little over 2 months after receiving the boots in the beginning of October. As seen in the pictures, the layers of the sole are starting to delaminate and are essentially ruined. I have never even had cheap-o boots fail this quickly and that was with working hard and beating them up. I am between a desk and job site walk-throughs and nothing that could even be considered strenuous on the boot. Anyone who has had a boot do this knows that it just gets exponentially worse day by day with hardly any cause leading to wet feet and debris constantly getting stuck in the ever growing opening. I couldn't be more disappointed with a boot from a supposedly reputable manufacturer that cost what it did. Since I don't feel like having wet feet, these are now shelved until summer and even then just for home use. Comfortable off the get but I guess there's something to be said for a boot that has to be broken in the old fashioned way. Maybe it was a defective pair judging by some other reviewers 5 star ratings but at just under $100, not a risk I am willing to make with this or any other Timberland "Pro" seriers. ... show more

I don't think going down on a size would help, boot fits so loose. Tight on the ankle like a lace up boot but loose like a slip on that's a size to big.
