  • Great work boot
Size: 9.5 Color: Brown
Great quality boots. Very comfortable, very supportive. Great arch support too, which saves me from having to get separate insoles. When I first tried them on the toe box felt a bit stiff in ways that would rub into my foot when I moved just right. A bit of leather conditioner fixed that immediately. I normally wear a 9.5 wide shoe, but the 9.5 medium in these is just right. I got these for DIY stuff around the house and yardwork, and I expect them to serve me well. I do wish these were full grain leather instead of nubuck, but it's not a deal breaker. But hey - Timberland - I know you're going for sustainable and earth friendly and all of that, but for goodness sake use a box that's actually big enough for the boots! The boots were so crowded in there that the right toe box had a giant dent that dug into me horribly. I spent nearly an hour trying to push it back out and I convinced myself that a bit of leather treatment would take care of the rest. Thankfully I was right, but there really is no excuse for such a packaging failure on what is an otherwise fantastic boot. If I had been wrong about the leather treatment I would have had unusable boots that couldn't be returned. I love the boots, so please fix the box. ... show more

  • Decent boot but dang does it take time to break in.
Size: 13 Color: Brown
I've moved around with boots a bit and I can say this is a good boot, but dear god did it take some time to break in. The spot just above ankles would come back so sore after a day of work I could not wear them again the next day. They hurt that bad. I don't know why. The top of the boot feels quite nice to the touch, but for some reason it would just rub up against the lowers part of my leg all day and then by the time I got home and take them off I was so relieved to have them off and couldn't put them on again till that part of my stopped hurting. Never before have I ever had a pair of boots make a part of my body so sore before. I had to force them to break in eventually. I wore them occasionally for months trying to break them in, but they just wouldn't and I would stop wearing them becasue of the pain. I eventually learned a good tip. Heat the padded top of the boot with a hair dryer or heat gun. Not to hot to melt or burn it, but enough to loosen and soften it. Then just grip, tug, pull, roll, and essentially beat the tar out of it. I still do it just without the heat every other time I put them on just to make sure they don't start hurting me again. They are durable boots as far as I can tell, but don't I've never had this problem before. Probably will just spend the extra money on some Keens next time, but hey I wanted to try them out and if you are willing to force them to break in then I say give them a try. ... show more

  • They are boots. They are nice
Size: 8.5 Color: Wheat-2024 New
These fit great. Opened the box, put them on, went into the desert for a location scout. No issues with breaking them in. No running or weirdness for my feet. A nice pair of boots that look like 99 percent of every work boot on the earth. Get them, put them on your feet, then go do stuff!

  • Also a great hiking boot on rough trails
Size: 12 Wide Color: Brown
This is good all around boot. This is my second pair. My first pair have steel toe covers. I still use them, especially for yard work and mowing. I wanted the soft toe boot for more general use and hiking/camping, as they are a little lighter. They have a simple, appealing design and are not very expensive. Their leather uppers hold up better than suede and are much easier to clean and polish. I recommend water proofing. I like Mink oil. It does not affect the color since they are pretty dark already and it may help with breaking them in. If you're looking for a good all around boot that seems to hold up well and isn't very expensive, this is a reasonable choice. ... show more

  • Comfortable and light on the feet but...
Size: 9.5 Color: Brown
I bought the boots to wear for work. I work at an automotive dealership as a service tech and deal a lot with fluids. There are always oil or water on the floor. These boots held up pretty well for me and I have never slipped & fall or lost my balance while wearing them while stepping on wet surfaces. It is a bit narrow but not punishing on my feet. They are light but very well made. I think the material will hold up for a long time and many uses. I couldn't find the soft-toe version of the boot anywhere except on Amazon, and I wanted the soft-toe ones and not the steel-toe ones. Why I cannot give it 5 stars and what I don't like about it is: 1) The boot gets scuffed up pretty easy and leaves a streaky mark on the shoe. 2) The shape of the boots are not perfectly matched. In other words, the left boot has more of a curve by the toe thumb then the right side on its outer sole. If you put them on and look down at the boots, the left side boot has more curvy contour on it on the outer sole by your toe thumb, whereas the right side boot has more of a straighter curve on its outer sole. 3) Inside my left boot by the ankle area, there is some hard metal-like piece of material there and it is pushing on my ankle bone and I can feel it. It is stuck inside the cushion and the stitching and I cannot remove it unless I cut it open. The right side does not have any of that hard metal object there by the ankle area. What could it be?? A piece of eyelet that was accidentally stitched into the boot during manufacturing? It's not too bad because I wear socks so I don't really feel it. 4) My right side boot looks like it has been test-worn by someone. Right out of the box, I notice it had scuff marks around the shoe, but it's really minor and not really noticeable... Overall, the boots are great and comfortable, and is the color I was expecting and liked. Would I recommend these boots...? I do, but if the unmatched shape of the shoes bothers you, I'd look at a different pair of boots... ... show more

  • Needs time
Size: 10 Wide Color: Brown
It takes time, patience and Vaseline to take the shape of the foot so that it feels comfortable wearing it. It is not a light shoe, quite hard feeling at the beginning. After all, it is a work boot. The quality is very good.
