  • A well made boot which fits my foot well
Size: 11 Wide Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
I recently purchased this boot and since it was the first time I had puchased a Timberland boot I was a bit unsure of the correct size. I can comfortably wear a US 11 Teva boot or shoe but only a US 10.5 in their sandals. I have a fairly wide foot and always get the EE fitting and stick to wide brands such as New Balance in runners. I tried Keen boots but found the US 11 too tight with thick socks and had to go to the US 11.5 but I found the Keen's to be very thickly padded which may be great for cold climates but I live in Australia and only occasionally hike in the cold or snow when I go to North America. I also read many stories of Keen boots coming unstitched, soles splitting and soles separating from the shoe. The Timberland Flume certainly appears to be well bonded and has held up so far to fairly basic walks but the main thing is it feels comfortable in thicker socks, it's not overly padded and in the US 11 EE size it fits perfectly for me. They are currently made in Vietnam like many items of footware but this is why you can buy them so cheap. I have read that some people have had the lace grommets come out but this is a simple repair at a reputable shoe or boot repairer although it will cause you problems if it happens in the middle of the hike. The boot is also very lite for a leather boot and in my opinion should suit my style and location of hiking better than the nylon and gortex lined boots which I find to be very hot. I will add an update after some winter hikes I have planned in a weeks time. ... show more

  • Perfect!
Size: 10 Wide Color: Black Full Grain
I first bought a pair of these for my son, who was constantly hiking in the Colorado Rockies with nothing but a pair of sneakers, telling me all about the snakes he saw, etc. UGH. (I also bought him bear spray!) He SO needed these and he absolutely loved them!! Then I bought a pair for myself. I also absolutely love them!! They are comfortable, durable, and I wear them every time I go out to work in the yard. They keep me safe on the steep incline of my yard, digging in when I am SURE I'm going to slide down the hill. I bought another pair for my other son for his birthday, who also absolutely loves them! This is a really great pair of boots. It's the kind of boot that you know you're going to still have and love 10 years from now... Definitely my favorite pair of shoes! ... show more

  • Very comfortable
Size: 13 Color: Black Full Grain
I just got these a few hours ago and already I love these boots. They fit perfectly, the arch support is just right. Even my giant size 13 is very lightweight. I’ve been told Timberlad boots take a while to break in, but these are great right out of the box. Very stable. Very good traction walking around the wet hills where I live. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Have worn these boots for years, and will buy again.
Size: 11.5 Color: Black Full Grain
I have bought these boots before, and have worn them for years. I love them! I wear them mostly for work, but they are good for hiking and just general all around wear. They are very comfortable and I can wear them all day without my feet getting tired or sore. I wear them year round regardless of the weather or temperatures. I live in Ohio where we get extremes from below zero in the winter to 90s in the summer. Probably the only complaint I have would be the waterproofing is not that great. If you want a true waterproof boot these are probably not for you. I'd call them water resistant, not waterproof. I purchased my third pair this Feb 2017. Both prior pairs were replaced because the soles wore down on one side of the heel. This is due to how I walk uneven, which is due to foot problems I have, and no fault of the boot. Considering that I basically live in these boots daily, all year round I think they hold up fairly well. I seem to get 3-4 years or so out of a pair. I've read some of the negative reviews and saw concerns about eyelets pulling out, the quality not what it used to be, etc. They have photos so I don't disagree, but I can only speak for the pair I received now and they are the exact same quality as the first pair I bought years ago. Maybe there was a quality issue and it's been resolved, or maybe just a bad batch... I don't know, but I love mine!!! The photo is my old pair I'm replacing after 3 years of use. They actually still have a lot of life left in them. ... show more

  • Good boots
Size: 11 Wide Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
Fits as expected. Been wearing Timberland hiking boots as my "general" waterproof boots for years now, these are the same as always. One thing about this model in particular, I chose it because as you can see in the photos, the rear of the ankle support cuts down lower than standard boots that just have a circular ring of cushion around the ankle. I wanted this feature in particular, because on the standard boots your ankles can get really hot from this extra cushion. On this boot, having the ankle support cut down like this gives you some "breathing room" and makes your feet slightly cooler. This is significant if you plan to wear them in hot climates, for example on my trip through Mexico. It makes a difference, and does not compromise the functionality of the boots. For trekking around sites like Teotihuacan these boots are pretty perfect. For walking in the city, the arch support is a little lacking and my flat feet start to get sore after a few days of heavy pavement walking. Overall though I am pretty satisfied with these and they are holding up just fine. ... show more

  • Nice shoe
Size: 11.5 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
Very comfortable. Haven't had them for very long however one of the buttons to tie the laces up top already broke off. Looks like it's just supported into the leather instead of going through the actual shoe. I Don't wear very often. Shame.
