  • Good boots.
Size: 8.5 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
I actually purchased the White Ledge model, not the Flume. I think it’s my third pair? I first bought them back in the late nineties. I was doing a lot of high mileage hiking and backpacking on very rugged Pennsylvania trails, and just tore up other brands of boots. (literally) These are very light and prettier durable if you clean them properly after getting them wet and muddy. Traction is good too. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five is because this latest pair has one boot that the toe number is separating from the leather at the toe. It’s just a little bit, but twenty or thirty miles into an 85 mile trip it could become a tripping hazard if it decided to get worse. Overall, I will purchase another pair when the time comes. Oh, they’re pretty waterproof too. ... show more

It was my first time shopping on Amazon. I like it, and the shoes are great, cheaper than buy it in my country

  • 1st time buying boots unseen
Size: 11.5 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
After taking a nasty spill on some ice while wearing an old pair of boots I decided I needed a new pair of boots. Not really being able to get out and try on some boots due to the fall I had, I decided to give these a try. They fit perfectly, I ordered 11¹/² because that is what I typically wear in athletic shoes. I have never worn this brand before so I was little leary. I would have gave 5 stars if they would had been delivered same day as requested, but that is not a knock against the boot. Great value for the price. ... show more

  • Son suaves pero a la misma vez resistentes y no pesan.
Size: 10 Wide Color: Black Full Grain
Me gustaron mucho porque quedan perfectas en el pie. Son fuertes. Sirven para trabajar en el calor extremo, en el frio y son resistentes al agua.

  • Best boot(s) I have.
Size: 9.5 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
I bought these originally at Famous Shoes (those in the picture) a good 4-5 years ago. They have about 200 miles of urban (home to transit to university campus: walking from train to work ~1.2 miles each way, up hill then down, for years through streets, sidewalks, grass, dirt, etc and the typical seasonal change of 100F summer to 7F winter and a foot+ of snow) traffic on them. Perhaps 50 miles of trails of one type or another. The trips they have been on range from desert 125F to 2F temps in water and sand. I was always concerned the tread was not grippy enough and the composite was too hard. In the cases of flat out black ice or 1inch deep mossy rocks perhaps it is but otherwise it is a prefect balance between grip, wear, and quite possibly more importantly the bottom of your foot for protection. They are without question waterproof not "waterproof" but if you want to add some serious repellant as well toss on some Nikwax. The padding has wore perfectly and surprisingly the ankle and back of calf padding as well. I thought for sure both of those would be trashed in weeks to months. The weight for what they are is bordering on unbeatable. I also like the flat laces vs round as they stay better and again weigh less. I like these boots so much I bought two more pair and one of them from Amazon. One pair sits in the closet awaiting the demise of those in the picture and the others in a giant ziplock bag in my storage. I hope they keep making these indefinitely and quite possibly do not stop until they have another boot like them around that beats them in the same ways. Outside advanced composites that beat out leather I just do not see that. At least not for a 100USD but even 200USD boots are at best "on par" minus waterproofing. Maybe my only complaint is I think the toe region might be a bit too tight but then I have odd shaped pinky toes and even with that a 12 mile hike on severe terrain with a 47lb pack was barely noticeable at the end of it. ... show more

  • great material, except has a design flaw and/or failing part....
Size: 10.5 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
Getting the laces to stay in the lace-"hooks" while lacing makes putting these on a painfully slow process. Th laces can pop out of the hooks even after hearing them "pop" in. It happens whenever I am crossing over to the opposite side with a lace (esp. from the inner-to-the-outer side of either boot). My only work-around is to skip the hook "usage" entirely, or I have to tie a knot after the last lace-holes, another after the first lace-hooks, and a final double after the second set of hooks. I'm lucky that there's no crisis, or I'd be doing more than cursing the "hook" flaw, circa China and some profiteering board of directors who off-shored to ensure it, by trading quantity for quality. ... show more

  • Good boots
Size: 11 Wide Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
Fits as expected. Been wearing Timberland hiking boots as my "general" waterproof boots for years now, these are the same as always. One thing about this model in particular, I chose it because as you can see in the photos, the rear of the ankle support cuts down lower than standard boots that just have a circular ring of cushion around the ankle. I wanted this feature in particular, because on the standard boots your ankles can get really hot from this extra cushion. On this boot, having the ankle support cut down like this gives you some "breathing room" and makes your feet slightly cooler. This is significant if you plan to wear them in hot climates, for example on my trip through Mexico. It makes a difference, and does not compromise the functionality of the boots. For trekking around sites like Teotihuacan these boots are pretty perfect. For walking in the city, the arch support is a little lacking and my flat feet start to get sore after a few days of heavy pavement walking. Overall though I am pretty satisfied with these and they are holding up just fine. ... show more

  • Decent Hiking Shoe, not for long distance
Size: 9.5 Color: Dark Brown Full Grain
I wore this shoes on a 18 mile hike. The first 8 miles were fine, but by the 10th mile I had blisters on both heels. The backwall of the shoe is thin and will rub on your feet after a prolonged period of time. Shoe was still mostly comfortable, supporting, and nicely waterproof.
