The Black Pro-Mist offers all the benefits of the Pro-Mist filter in a more subtle form. With this filter, highlight flares are controlled, contrast is lowered, but with less lightening of shadows for a more delicate effect and it also creates a soft light "pastel" effect. This is a very delicate effect with contained highlight flare. This Hollywood/FX filters was originally designed for the TV and Motion Picture industry, but are now available to all photographers and videographers.

nice to meet you Purchased in November 2021. But only then did I realize that something was wrong. I bought 2 black mist filters (1/2, 1/4). But a few days ago, while talking to someone else, "This is not a 1/2 black mist filter, it's a regular UV filter?" When I looked at the 1/4 black mist filter, the word black mist was written next to the filter, but the filter I believed to be 1/2 had only "UV" written on it. I have been curious about this kind of filter for a long time, but unsure if it would really be needed because I use editing software for my photos where I want full control and was concerned this would give me an effect I'd be stuck with, when I could otherwise just add the effect in as desired with software. But it was the glow around lights that caused me to try it and after just one night of testing, I'm definitely glad I bought it. It's a great combo, and for the right uses the 1/2 filter is great but for the most part is kind of abrasive/extra. After reading that others say the Black Promist takes the digital edge off of images and that it blooms highlights, I was interested in trying it out as I like a cinematic style to my photography. This product exceeded my expectations and never leaves my lens.

This filter right here. This one hits hard with that soft glow. It could work for the bomb squad with all the diffusion it does. It already done went PRO. You might make it rain but this one makes it MIST. Coming at you with that 1/2 strength cause honestly you canโ€™t handle more.
