I used two small 15 watt LED bulbs since I wasn't using the lamp for reading and also wanted to avoid the complaint some reviewers made about their bulbs touching or being too close to the glass. The quality is outstanding and better than most of the similar lamps we looked at for twice the price. The shade is definitely thin cut glass that is put together perfectly. Base is heavy solid metal with a nice dark bronze finish. I use it sometimes with only one light on as an accent lamp and then turn on the second light to use it for work. These lamps were exactly what I was looking for. They are perfect for a bed side table and the craftsmanship is lovely. Very sturdy so when you pull the chain to turn on/off the lamp doesn't tip. Well worth the price.

    • Pretty lamp, but it's NOT made of glass
The "stained glass" is really some kind of plastic designed to resemble old-fashioned stained glass. Workmanship is so-so (there are a few small gaps between the panels where the material joining them has chipped away; don't know if this happened at the factory or in transit). The $80 price tag almost seemed too good to be true for a stained glass lamp this size, and now I know why. It's still a very pretty lamp. Going to give it a night or two to see if it fits our needs. Will update this review if we decide to send it back. The listing really needs to be amended to include the actual materials used. Misleading customers just isn't good business. ... show more

Positive: As described. I love the dual light chains. Negative: The shade won't stay locked in place, it turns when barely hit and yes, I used the washer as instructed in the directions. The lamp as a whole is beautiful. Very easy to assemble, but the assembly design has a flaw. Unfortunately, I ran into a problem another reviewer had. The lamp shade does not sit still. The top piece does not screw down far enough into the assembly pole to ensure a tight fit. Followed all the instructions, but it does swivel. This also causes the shade to be off center and slant to the side. Then, trying to unscrew the top piece to try and fix it made the whole assembly unscrew and almost caused me to drop the shade shattering it. This may not be an issue for some, but for the price I expected a perfect finish. Will be returning. ... show more
