Made with hand-cut pieces of glass, each wrapped in fine copper foil, this lamp utilizes the technique developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s. Handcrafted using the same techniques that were developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s, this beautiful Tiffany-style piece contains hand-cut pieces of stained glass, each wrapped in fine copper foil. Hi all~ Before purchasing this lamp I posted a question about the bulb size since the description on the listing wasn't exactly clear. You were all very helpful and gave me the information I needed, mostly that it is a standard size bulb base, but the glass on the bulb has to be small, hardly larger than a golf ball. Here is a photo of my new lamp, which i just love and it ties in beautifully with my redecorated kitchen. Following another reviewer's advice, I did go to Home Depot and found the bulbs she purchased, (you'll see those in the other photos within these reviews) and they were good- but a little bright for my purpose, as an accent light in the corner of the kitchen cabinets. I did a search here on Amazon and found these: SleekLighting 4 Watt G16 E26 LED Filament Globe Light Bulb,Dimmble (35W Incandescent Replacement) Warm White 2700K - 4 Pack They are LED; are 4 watts and equivalent to 34 watts of light! What I like about these bulbs is the glass is even smaller than the Home Depot bulbs, plus, the light is overall more white- bright, even. Nice! With LED there is no worry about the lamp getting too hot either, another plus if you leave it on all the time. If you're interested, do a search for this information I copied above to see the bulbs I used in this lamp. (4 for 12.99) Love the lamp, it came very well packed in a sturdy box so no worries there. I love this little lamp but I had to buy a special sized bulb to fit it. I didn't realize it needed a golf ball sized light bulb when I purchased so I had to go and buy one but once I had it working it is lovely. I use it as a night light in the living room and it's not only a nicely muted light, it is beautiful to look at and easy to turn off and on with the pull chain. Very well-made. Turned off, this lamp looks very much meh, but once you turn that baby on, you’ll see a gorgeous warm glow. For a “Tiffany-style” stained glass lamp, the soldering seems solid and the base substantial enough. Enclosed instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. My one caveat is that they don’t mention needing an unusual sized lightbulb, but this was not a problem for me (more on that later). I chose this table lamp for its small size, and was pleased to discover the Amazon measurements to be accurate. It’s home is on a nightstand, providing just the right amount of light for reading without being too bright. My husband is sensitive to light at night, so I needed a wattage that would allow me to read without disturbing him. The max wattage on the lamp says 40w. To play it safe, I purchased both 25 and 40w, but found the 25 to be much too dark. 40 provides enough light for me to read by, while keeping the entire rest of the room dark- including my husband’s side of the bed. Just perfect. I’d recommend 25 for a nightlight and 40 for a soft light to read by. About the light bulbs- Despite other reviewers finding them hard to acquire, I found two suitable types on the shelves at Home Depot (pictured here). The 25w/clear/Sylvania bulbs fit slightly better than the 40w/white/Philips ones, but I was able to screw to latter in without issue. Great looking lamp that I wanted to as an all day and night light but I can't find an LEB bulb that will fit it. For a lamp that size I'm rather surprised they didn't make it with a candelabra base. If I can't find and LEB bulb that will fit I'm sending it back. Disappointing
