I purchased these boots for the steel shank to protect my feet as i dig in the garden. Boots without the shank have left my feet in hurting at night. These boots are easy on & off. They are easy to find on the porch because of the colored soles. I have worn them with and without socks. So far I have been very happy this not feeling wet inside the boots from sweat, & they have not leaked walking through puddles, yet! Have had no chaffing issues. Temperature is within range. I only took a star off because I think the shaft of these could be more fitted/less sloppy (mine came indented/warped around the top edge so they look sort of beaten up right out of the box). I have slightly larger calves but not necessarily "wide" as in the specific sizing designator but I'd definitely label these as being in that category. They do run slightly large but I chose to keep the larger size because the price difference to go down one was about 40 more dollars (!!!) so I'm just going to deal with the looser fit. They are extremely comfortable and supportive, wore them out in freezing rain/light snow today and they kept me warm and dry while providing excellent traction. I have a farm and need some good, sturdy, waterproof boots. I did follow the sizing recommendation and ordered a size down. I normally take a size 8 and I ordered a size 7. It fit PERFECT! I've been extremely happy with these boots.

The product arrived looking like they are used - scuffed and an odd manufacturing odor. I will be using them at a farm and since I had already had to exchange them for a smaller size, I am keeping them. Pro - they are REALLY comfortable and fit very well. One con - when I originally purchased them, they were on sale and the buyer gave no option of exchanging them only a return and re purchase. I had to pay almost $30 more, which was a bummer when I was merely trying to exchange for a smaller size. UPDATE: Customer service is extremely responsive and helpful! They totally resolved my issue and because they are so comfortable and the customer service was so amazing, I will be ordering future orders from them. These are just what I needed, wanted, for summer barn, pony, grounds work. Though I had to size down. I normally wear a size 9, but they were just too roomy for my comfort. I did get a size 8, and though my initial concern was that they might be a wee bit snug across the top of my foot, but I can say I haven't noticed anything since. It's a perfect fit. But if you have a high arch, it may be an issue for you if you size down.? Been wearing them for a couple months now and still happy. A good short boot when you need it. ... show more
