Description

The THRUSTMASTER T300 Ferrari Integral Racing Wheel Alcantara Edition, featuring official PS4 and PS3 licenses and also compatible with PC, is a powerful combination of the latest available next-Gen Force Feedback technologies and the highest-quality materials. The immediate visual impact of this new wheel is indisputably the material covering the wheel: genuine Alcantara. Alcantara is a ground breaking material with aesthetic, technical and sensory qualities that no other material can match. Manufactured at the same facilities as the Alcantara destined for real Ferraris and hand-stitched around the wheel's large diameter of 11.8 inches, this material positions the wheel firmly in the very high end of the spectrum. Add the fact that the wheel is detachable, and that it is the official Ferrari-licensed 8:10 scale replica of the actual 599XX EVO wheel, and it's hard to find enough superlatives to properly describe it. The middle part of the wheel and the 2 large fixed paddle shifters are crafted of brushed metal. Controls include 6 action buttons, a 3-position rotary switch, and a multidirectional D-pad. The 599XX EVO replica wheel is attached to a base which incorporates a brushless industrial servo motor and features a friction-free dual-belt mechanism. This wheel really stands out for its precision thanks to H.E.A.R.T Hall Effect Accurate Technology feature a contactless magnet, and an angle of rotation which can be adjusted between 270 and 1080 degrees. It's also compatible with the THRUSTMASTER racing product ecosystem. The included T3PA 3-pedal pedal set features 3 pedals which can be completely adjusted in terms of their spacing with respect to one another, angle of inclination and height, as well as 100% metal construction for its pedal heads and internal structure. What's more, its built-in Conical Rubber Brake Mod (to manage the brake pedal's pressure force with a realistic feel) is sure to meet with the full approval of even the most demanding racers.

  • Great wheel for the beginner/intermediate sim racer
Style: T300RS GT Racing Wheel
I have been looking for a wheel for the past year and a half or so for my PC, as I wanted to get into sim racing. I was trying to decide between two other wheels before finally deciding on the T300RS GT wheel. I will be breaking the review down into the three individual components, the T300 wheel base, the T-3PA GT Pedal Set & the GT wheel which came in the package. T300 Servo Base: =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- My first impression of the servo base was that it was a solid & well built. The T300 servo base does not come with an external power supply. In lieu of an external power supply, the T300 has a built in power supply, along with a cooling fan. There is a power cable, with a strange four tubular connections that come in the package. I am not sure if this electrical cable is proprietary to thrustmaster or if one is readily available at home depot or other home improvement store. The T300 has a dual belt force feed back system. This makes for a smoother, less noisy force feedback experience, as compared to those with gear driven system. From what I have experienced so far, the force feedback is very good. The force feedback not only let's you feel the "weight" of the race car, but also the bumps on the track, that you would otherwise not feel without any sort of force feedback. The package also came with a mounting clamp, should you want to clamp the wheel servo to a desk. It also has mounting holes, should you want to mount the wheel servo on a sim rig, although you would have to source the screws, as thrustmaster does not include screws for this purpose. The desk clamp is a bit finicky to get on, but once on, it holds the wheel servo securely to the desk without the servo wiggling/moving. T-3PA GT Pedal Set =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The T-3PA GT pedal set which comes in this package is also very solidly built. The pedals have thick plastic arms and an internal metal structure, while the pedal themselves are made from a solid piece of brushed metal. Again, the pedal set that comes in the package has mounting holes on the bottom, should you want to mount them in a sim rig. The pedals are heavy enough to where they do not move around on a plastic mat, which I have set under my computer desk. The only time the pedals move is if I happen to jam on the brake or accelerator suddenly. The pedals themselves feel great underneath your feet. Doesn't take a lot of force to even start braking or accelerating, but these settings can be adjusted in the thrustmaster control panel and in individual sim settings. GT Wheel -=-=-=-=-= The wheel that comes in the package is the GT edition wheel rim. The wheel is made of metal in the middle, where the electronics are housed) encased in rubber around the rim. The shifter is made from either steel or brushed aluminum. Again the rim is solidly made. The rim has thirteen buttons, all configurable in whatever sim you like to play. Unfortunately, thrustmaster does not have an app to where you can program your buttons to the way you like them like logitech does. Conclusion =-=-=-=-=-= Since I bought the T300RS GT edition, it has increased my enjoyment of sim racing as well as truck simulator (Yes I am a virtual trucker). I still ask myself how did I survive playing racing/driving sims on my PC with an xbox controller. If you are looking for a good beginner/intermediate wheel for the sim racer and you have the budget, go with the T300RS GT edition. You will not be disappointed, I sure wasn't. ... show more

  • Very nice wheel, with very few complaints. I'm very happy with it, and saved a fair bit over a Fanatec CS setup.
Style: T300 Servo Base
I'm very happy with my T300, though I wish the housing wasn't quite so large. Taking off the top cover it looks like a lot of space could have been saved with a little effort on Thrustmaster's part, making the odd housing much easier to accomodate for in a dashboard build such as my own. Instead, I needed to carve my dashboard in order to fit the T300. I suppose I can't complain much on this part, but if there's onething I'd change; this is it. The ability to swap wheels is very nice, but as I change between a circle and F1 wheel often I wish the connecting collar was metal instead of plastic. As you must insert a screw into the collar in order to secure a wheel to it, my collar's screwhole has become just a little loose; causing concern. Functionally it still works and I haven't felt that one of my wheels is going to fall off or wiggle around yet, I'm concerned for the future. The software suite that Thrustmaster uses is one of my favorites, and I've not had a detection issue with any game I've tried as of yet. The wheel, all of its buttons and switches, the pedal inputs and the shifter are all on the same page of the suite. Comparitively, Fanatec devices require a different configuration page for each connected device which is frustrating at times. I didn't like the T3PA Pro pedals at all and opted to use Fanatec CSV3 Pedals instead. The Thrustmaster's software suite still picks up on the Fantec's inputs and shows them on the configuration page with the T300; which is very, very nice. I also use a Fanatec CSS1.5 Shifter, which also works on the Thrustmaster configuration page. Neither fanatec devices can be connected to the wheel, which isn't a complaint, but an observation; which is why I was surprsised to see them show up in Thrustmaster's software. I've tried a Fanatec Clubsport base + wheel configuration and found the force feedback to be a bit stronger, but strangely not as smooth or precise. I'm very happy I decided to go with the Thrustmaster instead, and the ease of using other hardware with it makes me very happy. The T300 is also significantly cheaper than a Fantec wheel setup, although not quite as customizable. I'm alright with this, as I feel the majority of users won't want to change their wheels out often (or even own more than one). All in all, I'm very happy. ... show more

  • Wow
Style: T300RS GT Racing Wheel
I bought the T300 RS GT after owning an old Logitech Driving Force Pro (note--not a DFGT, but a Driving Force Pro, which is even older and was for the PS2). Of course, Logitech now makes much better wheels, and tech has moved on. Either way, my first impression going from that wheel to this was like going from a toy (or a game) to something that only an adult would purchase. The wheel is surprisingly heavy and sturdy. Personally, I don't mind the rubber surface, and it's very smooth. The force feedback is extremely strong and much smoother than gear driven systems. It's satisfyingly close to the sensation of driving a real car hard down a twister road, feeling the wheel get heavier as you encounter resistance in turns and under breaking. The pedals are stiff, responsive, and surprisingly realistic. The feel of the brake pedal is tight and the conical brake mod absolutely gets the job done. Again, like the wheel, these yield a feeling like they do not belong in a children's toy room. The entire kit together bolted to my GT Omega wheelstand weighs in the ballpark of 50 pounds. I have this paired with the TH8A and it's incredibly immersive. At the end of the day, I'm glad I decided to go with Thrustmaster. I have to admit I was a little reticent based on reading reliability horror stories online. And of course, only time will tell regarding the reliability of the products. But so far, they feel hefty, well made, and are all bringing me a ton of fun. I was tempted by the purported reliability of the G29 but ultimately felt like this just looked like way more fun. Go for it. ... show more
