    • Decent Idea but ... Doesn't Work When You Most Need It
This hold down kit is good for in port use. If in and RV - it would likely work. But ... in my sailboat, it failed at around 30 degrees of heel causing the toilet to turn upside down and spill the contents of the holding tank on the floor of my boat. The hold down in the rear of the toilet is too flimsy. When pressure is applied - both lateral and up, the unit flexes. If there is a way for the unit to eject itself from its mounts, it does. I will bungee my toilet in place from now on - at least until I can design and build my own out of 6061 aluminum. (Which is what Thetford should do. They could charge 70 bucks for it and would still sell). Anyway - my 2 cents. Chris Clark ... show more
