Turning Point is very well written by a very literate physicist Fritjof Capra who also wrote the fasinating The Tao of Physics which can be read in tandem with Ken Wilber's - Quantum Questions. Frankly, at the outset I had my doubts about this book, but it was recommended by a good friend and scientist in Argentina. Eventually I caught the rhythm and vision of the book--yes, I needed to stretch, ponder, and be willing to listen and re-conceive many things. As other have said, the book might be some decades old, but it reads extremely relevant, perhaps even more relevant now, perhaps even more urgent, and more accessible now in 2020.     • A Must Read For Everyone Concerned About Society and Our Changing Culture.
This book takes an historical look at how science started in the days of Newton in the 17th century. It goes on to describe and explain what has happened since. There are fascinating descriptions of new ideas and of understanding how we view people and the world today. The author, Fritjof Capra, writes very clearly and explains complicated ideas in very simple terms. This is a very thoughtful book that should be rewarding for any thinking person. ... show more

Written in 1982, this book is even more relevant to the state of the world. It discusses the cycle of change from the viewpoint of both i ching, Cartesian science through to the modern physics. The rise of Trumpism, we are at an extreme of Yang inworld affairs which means that the cycle will change back to a more yin world. ... show more

I read this book in my junior college year for a class in international studies and it change my perspective how to view the world and my need to understand the how my perspectives influence my existence and my world ideologies. Well written and very challenging book. The author builds superbly a chain of arguments and invites us to evaluate our own "mental software" and the very few paradigms that constrain it. If you like philosophy, this book probably will open new horizons for investigation. After reading it, maybe could be a nice idea try watching an old movie (Mind Walk, Liv Ulman) inspired by the same theme. ... show more
