  • Nice, colorful book, lots of great info, excellent gift.
This book is chock full of very specific info on many types of fishing. The vast majority of fishermen will find info in this book to learn. Book is really colorful, every page is full of great illustrations and photos. Have already bought two as gifts, might still find more people to give to.

  • Good quality book with an appreciated amount of text, infographics, and pictures
The book was good quality, although I wouldn’t classify it as a hardcover…it was like a thick glossy card-stock. There wasn’t an overuse of bulk text; it was broken up with lots of pictures and infographics. I didn’t read the book, it was a gift for my boyfriend. He said there’s a lot of information about boating and boat fishing, which is irrelevant to use as shore fishers, but he still has enjoyed reading it. ... show more

I'm not an angler, but my stepfather is. He thought it was a great book to have. Thank you! Product was perfect and was packed/shipped well!

  • Best coffee table book for any fisherman
I purchased this book for a Christmas present for my Brother-In-Law who enjoys Bass fishing. Well, really, fishing in general. As an avid fly fisherman myself, I read other reviews, and the product description and decided to purchase this for him. When it was delivered I spent a few moments combing through it to make sure I didn't just waste a money on something he'll never read. It was one of his favorite gifts, and he spent the entire time reading it Christmas day! Now I need to buy myself one :) You can google all of the free information you want (trust me we have), but it's never going to be put together in such a perfect way as this book puts it together. The pictures are stunning, and the information contained is worth a read to any fisherman - even the pros! It sits nicely on a coffee table, and the book layout makes it so you don't feel obligated to read it cover to cover - although you'll find yourself doing just that because of just how great the book reads. You don't need to be a fisherman to find this book interesting to read, and it may just be the thing to get people you know interested in fishing. Both of us are now on pins and needles to wait for this upstate NY weather to warm up so we can put some of these skills we learned from this book out on the stream and catch some beauties! If you're reading this review, you're hesitating too much on purchasing it. Buy the book. Buy two - one for you and your fishing buddy. You won't regret it. ... show more

  • Lacking in supportive information
I've been away from fishing for several years and thought this book would broaden my knowledge of different types of fish and fishing techniques. Although it is generally separated into "fish" categories I was surprised that it didn't have a section on the identification and characteristics of fish. For example, there is no table that would tell me the differences in coloration, size, jaw/face/fins characteristics and so much more. How do I tell the difference between a large-mouth or small-mouth bass or a walleye and a sauger, or even where they are prevalent or what the current record is. Overall very disappointing. ... show more
