    • Finally, quality at a reasonable price!
When I selected this item, I didn't really expect much, given the low price. I was very pleasantly surprised. It seems rare, these days, that you purchase a manufactured product and are immediately pleased. I live in Wisconsin. We get snow. Shovels and plows are tools, not toys. Clearly, the designers are The Snow Plow have seen the sweaty end of a shovel. Even in the most subtle details, they simply got everything right. Though it is very light weight--I would guess half the weight of a similar-sized, metal shovel that this will be replacing--they did not sacrifice strength. This is built to withstand lots of work for lots of years. The components are rust-free, so, no more concrete stains. The hardware is robust. Assembly is painless and everything fits exactly as it should. The D-handle is sturdy and oversize--very ergonomic when you're shoveling at -20F and have thick mittens on. Even the wall hanger is designed in such a way that it hangs perfectly flush against the wall, minimizing space. The blade material will clearly wear over time, but, it's also a material that can easily be touched up with a sanding wheel. And, because the material will accept a little wear, it doesn't mar the concrete. My gushing may be silly over a shovel but I'm just tickled that someone really took the time to build a quality tool for this mundane chore. Thanks, The Snow Plow! ... show more

    • Good product; a little spendy but worth it!!!
It is just what the doctor ordered and all that i had hoped it would be!! Nice long handle; pushes and picks the snow just right and i like the 30". i got a 24" and a 30" I just hope the tip lasts a long while cause of the way it scrapes against the cement drive. It is supposed to be shelf sharpening; just hope it doesn't sharpen too fast too quick and wears out quick! Time will tell but very happy with the product and would recommend and buy again!!! ... show more

    • Great for the light fluffy snow!
Works great on the lighter snow on paved areas. For heavier snow it works ok. I think if the D handle was big enough for both hands it be much better! I live in upstate NY, we get a variety of each storm.

    • The sharpest knife in the the toolbox for snow!
If you hate shoveling like me you deserve this shovel. It should be issued to every family in the north country. No more heavy steel shovels, no more sticking snow and no more broken cheap plastic crap shovels. I've used this shovel for 8 years at the front door of a small commercial airport terminal and it's as good as the day I bought it. A few years ago I bought them for family Christmas presents and now I have one at home. The best feature next to it's durability is the scraper like qualities. If you have to shovel snow that's been stepped on or drove over this pulls up the snowpack like no other. You can even step on the back of the blade for more down pressure. It's so light and easy to handle. My elderly parents love the 20" version and I find the 30" is best for me. I'd like the 48" for the light snow too on the driveway too Ask yourself what you need in a shovel. Like a a knife there are several options depending on the need. This isn't a scoop shovel. Don't expect to dig out a snow bank. This is a pusher shovel that windrows snow to the side. I push snow to the side and blow it off with a snowblower. Made in the USA and the nuts n bolts at 7/16" My only regret is not getting sooner. ... show more

    • Mixed bag mostly good...
Does well when pushing snow on relatively smooth macadam/blacktop surfaces; however, the blade tends to grab on concrete sidewalks &/or surface imperfections. Nice build quality.

    • Very limited application
This is great at what it does. Unfortunately what it does is a very specific job. Which is to push a dusting of snow (< 3 in.) over a smooth surface. If you have more than 3 inches you probably won’t make it the full width across your driveway before you need to scoop and throw. But this isn’t a shovel, it’s a pusher, so there is no scoop and throw. If you have a typical driveway, aka not freshly paved perfection, this thing will grab tight to every tiny protrusion because of its vertical angle. A regular shovel sits a little flatter to the ground and can glide over bumps better. But since I bought the thing, it’s relegated to clean up duty, after the real shoveling gets done with a real shovel. ... show more

First the only negative. Poor quality control on double hole drilled on handle. No Made In USA pride in that! Now the positive: I am used to my Garant Poly Snow Pusher, which is 26" and light. Purchased J&M 30" and put it to the test in 1 1'2" of wet snow. The 30" is a good weight and heavier on front end which pushes wet snow better. Excellent job down to the concrete. Then used on 6ft parking area out front. Almost perfect straight line along front which makes neighbors envious. Some have joined in and doing their front now. Also had no problem with throwing wet snow up onto lawn. Trick is once you get to end of push run, do not stop, follow thru with an upward thrust and it will throw perfectly. Remember this is for pushing snow out of the way. Only place that I had problems was our brown walkway, which the stones are not level. Not fault of product. It would catch on high spots. I lowered snowplow more level with the ground to glide over the high spots. Even with that, cleaned down to the stone with wet snow. 30" is a perfect size for my use. Expensive but well made, except for the handle attachment hole looks shabby. ... show more
