This diver's watch from the Ridge Land & Sea comes in a pleasant and giftable package including the Watch, the extra band and bezel, and a screwdriver for removing the band and bezel. The watch seems to have a rigid build quality and the stainless steel body is shiny and solid. The dials are big enough to easily be read even underwater. The lume works fine. The overall design and appearance of the watch screen are plain with very few details. The bezel works almost smoothly and replacing the bezel is pretty straightforward. My main issue was with the time adjustment and changing the band. The crown is pretty stiff, which makes sense for a waterproof diver's watch. However, I had a challenge pushing it and rotating it even after I followed the instructions provided in the manual. I also got some help from the screwdriver which caused some minor scratches around the crown...I think the design could have been a bit improved for better adjustment in the crown. Also, I had serious challenges with changing the bands as the spacing between the band and the lug on the watch case is very tight and it took me almost 10-15 minutes to figure out the best way to swap the bands. So, I'd rather not play with it frequently and keep the same band for a couple of weeks! It should also be noted you only get two bezels with a watch and 2 bands (I was expecting 4 bezels by looking at the product pictures initially). The rubber band has good quality although I did not find it very flexible. Overall, the watch and its accessories seem to be a good quality mid-range diver's watch if we do not consider the current price (~$400), since I believe there are many high-end competitors at this price range with better performance and design. ... show more

    • Attaching the metal band is difficult! Swapping bands is too much work to do reguarly.

I was a little hesitant due to not knowing the Rigid brand, but I’ve always wanted an exciting watch. The alpine navy (blue everything with one bezel/dial having some red) looks great with the metal band. The nylon band, which is recommended when diving with the watch, has a nice feel to it that is nicer than other nylon bands I’ve tried, but “the Ridge” branding is significant on the nylon band, which I find detracting so I stick with the metal band. Thankfully, the kit comes with a screwdriver that allows me to remove links from the metal band without having to go to a watch store for a custom fit. It was very easy to remove or add a link using the provided screwdriver, but you will need some fine motor skills for manipulating the tiny screws. Unfortunately, you do need to view videos online to show you how to swap straps and do other maintenance/setup tasks as the instruction booklet includes minimal instructions and assumes a knowledge of watches (e.g., using undefined watch jargon) that was unknown to me initially. The swapping of the bands is significantly more difficult to accomplish than the videos show and I found it very difficult to do myself after a lot of trial and error. Because of this, the metal band will be staying on for the foreseeable future. The most disappointing aspect is the fact that the metal band is scratched right above the fastening clasp bit and I have no idea what I have done that repeatedly scrapes that one area. Overall, this watch feels well-built, I just wish there were clearer directions provided for all aspects of using and assembling the watch as well as a simpler procedure for attached the metal band to the watch. ... show more

It’s a good watch it’s like having two watches in one. I like that the bracelet comes with screws instead of push pins. And the quick release bars are nice. But kinda hard to put the second one in. You have to get it at an angle. Kinda annoying changing to the stainless steel bracelet and going thru this little task, sometimes I don’t put the bracelet on because I know it’s not going to be just a quick change. Also after a few handful of times of changing from rubber strap to bracelet. The spring bars kinda bend a bit from changing so much that one end of the stainless steel bracelet kinda comes out but still securely fit in the lug holes. Just a little bent from constant changing. The lume is great ample enough. And very clear dial. Can tell the time at a glance of my wrist. It’s my new work watch beater, I have a few but this one looks very nice and sturdy. Changing the bezel is pretty neat. It says you have to have the bezel on and the screw crown screwed on good to have full water resistant. Looks very nice in nato straps too. Nice first watch for any occasion. Highly recommended the ridge watch. Oh and forgot to mention the Swiss movement hitch is pretty accurate so far no complaints. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I don’t care how much a product is worth or that I have gotten it for free, I give well thought out quality reviews!!! And if you ask a question about an item, I’m usually one of the first to answer about that item. So ask away, and I will definitely answer back. This is an extremely nice watch! First off is made very well. Literally the highest quality. This time piece keeps time that is spot on. From the bezel down to the wrist this watch is top notch. And for the price it should be. I literally expected to get my moneys worth and with this watch you definitely do. It’s not too big and it’s not too small, it’s literally just right. I’ve had this watch wearing it 2 to 3 times a week for three months and the Crystal has not a single scratch on it, and I literally bumped it around on things that should have made it scratch. The bezel is interchangeable as well. Mine came with a couple different color bezels. The crown is smooth to turn, but a little tricky. At first you definitely need to read the instructions. The lugs are nice and strong. The buckle on the wrist is very unique. It even comes with an extra thick rubber wrist strap. I literally love everything about this watch. This watch is built to last the test of time. Your great great grandchildren will be proud to wear this watch when it’s y passed down to them! ... show more
